I made a figurative comment that BeatingU could REASON BY ANALOGY to say he was demonstrating the overall value of his account to sell it akin to how you would sell a business. When you sell a company, for instance, you don't empty the bank accounts rather they are sold with the company. BeatingU could (AS AN ANALOGY TO SELLING A BUSINESS) argue (TO DERRICK) that he was selling his account for gold but mentioned the gold on the accounts to demonstrate the value of the accounts - so he could acquire a higher gold value through goodwill.

My eyes glaze over when I start reading legal jargon.

You are comparing a UOSA account to a business. This might be plausible if BeatingU was a merchant crafter that had vendors with operating capital, that were all included in the sale. I can't think of any reason why a banked gold and silver hoard would be sold in such a deal. Regardless, it seems like you are making quite a leap, and not an apples-to-apples comparison.

You are also trying to apply some real-world law to an in-game/forum issue. If real-world law applied here, all the reds and thieves would be locked up in yew prison. And everyone would be crying about it being a Trammel shard.
