Mayor of Britain

Post by Le Tigre »

Sorry if is the wrong forum for an Event Idea.
Is there a way an election type event could be held. I think it would be something fun to do. See who on the shard is the best organizer/community leader. We could do a nomination process on the forums, hold a ballet in the game somehow and present something worthwhile as the prize (besides the title)

any ideas on an event like this? I think a community based non-combat event with a good prize would be cool.

Any ideas on what the position of "Mayor of Britain" would entail. ;)

It's a monarchy, not a democracy.

Your contest would have to be voting for something other than a position of power.

Just tossing some ideas out here, like:
Nebiest Newb
Best Dressed

Has been done before (doesn't mean it can't be done again):
Best Dancer
Best Decoration (Houses, Boats, etc)
Best PvP & PvM

We had an event like this for all towns on Napa Valley shard in old UO. As long as it's not an automated event that happens every week, it should be accurate.

there were electoral colleges used in the appointments of positions of power (Holy Roman Empire, Swiss Confederation, German city states, United Kingdom to some extent)

So....era accurate... Only "Lord" Characters can vote and the position is Lord Protector of Britain. Prize will be arranged by whomever wants to help. We can have a ceremony in Britain and give whoever gets the most vote something worth the while. It's not complicated and surely it's less lame then non-stop farming and pk runs.

Ideas on way to do the voting. I'd say it takes 2 Lords to nominate a characters to nominate. We hold a hand counted vote at the event and winner takes the prize and bragging rights.
