Question about newbie clothing / blessed sandals

Post by Ragancy »

Suppose I have a newbie kilt and non GF'd blessed sandals.

The kilt will take the damage and eventually be destroyed. The sandals won't take any (or just significantly less?) damage until the kilt is broken.

Is this a correct assumption? If not then how does it work?

As I understand it is, as long as the kilt provides more AR than the sandals, they won't break.

I don't think it has anything to do with the AR. I thought that it was dependent on the layer of the item. Might want to ask Derrick to clarify.

It is the layering, kilts wont protect sandles, shorts or long pants are the only clothing items to take damage before sandles.

It's actually both. The highest AR rating is taken into account for a given layer when damage absorption & damage to armor is calculated.

I thought only one object could reside in one layer at any given time.

Layering for the purposes of taking up an equipment slot and layering for the purposes of armor rating are different.
