Can you go in detail about this? Because as of now, the tank mage pvp here... STINKS!

Era accuracy blah blah blah, everything was accurate up untill now anyways right? Same as it was the previous patch and so on and so on.

On a shard where it is difficult to kill a half intelligent person just got harder because, yet again, you guys encourage running more, and REWARD it! I can hit someone at the WBB and run a straight line to the chaos shrine and hit them again.

All of that aside, when you get an opportunity Kaivan, can you explain the statement I quoted? Thank you very much in advance.

Just played my dexxer for the first time in months, some form of swing on the run is definitely back, but can't say if it is as it was before. I'll have to get in some more fights and collect more "data".

I hope this change stays. The burden of proof has not been met to have it removed, the patch note is not sufficient in my opinion, and the community has obviously been heavily impacted by what at first seemed to be a minor pvp change, but actually ruined any sense of balance in the pvp world. I know multiple people who do not play here anymore because of change, and are waiting to come back when swing on the run is re-established.

If that is all that exists for this change, then I tend to agree. The patch note could have been referencing a small bug or any other number of things given that the duration from the demo to the note was swing on the run. But surely there is more reason for this change, and I am sure someone who knows will chime in at some point.

dear lord this man speaks truth. i'm more of an advocate of fixing miniheal than anything else. 12-13 hp consistent miniheals is a joke.

I just tested this stuff out 3 times and it's certainly different. The bottom line question is, after this new patch is implemented, will you still be able to run and charge at the same time?

would suggested that everything will return to normal as i hope it is does, i won't be going out and using a tankmage until derrick post about this one way or the other. not going to adjust to changes for zero reason to have it fixed a week later back to way it has always been.

I am really interested to know what you mean but I cannot parse this sentence.

I suggest writing your comments into a word processing programme such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer and performing a spelling and grammar check before posting. That way you can copy the coherent text (by selecting the text and pressing CTRL-C) and paste it into the forums (by pressing CTRL-V).

This way I will be able to understand what you have written, and over time you will learn how to construct sentences and correctly spell words.

Ad Hominem attacks and straight out jabs at players need to stop in this thread and all threads within the indexed forums. I've had to remove a few posts, in this thread already, and I will start issuing temporary bans if these types of warnings continue to fall on deaf ears.

once again.
since there is sotr = more ppl fighting (even at bucs) <--- man i cant even remember when i had serious fights there, its months ago or if we camp event gates. on osi there was always action. i was able to fight the whole day at gy+town without one single break and that was like impossible before, it was always the same ppl "gank squad" before sotr.
the shard pvp was clearly dead and not entertaining at all anymore.
it is just perfect as it is like now for both mages and dexers.
my 2 cents is: this server is by far the best and most accurate server ever and the sotr wont change that.
ppl play here to be actually able to play it and not to stick around with horrible era accurate osi staff misstakes (+ iam still sure there was sotr on osi) 2 years fenc dexer in our era + 1 year lumberjacker in uor era and i never ever had to stay to hit.

i remember when my brother and i joined here and started with dexers. and how my brother was shocked about how broke the swing mechanics r here..

so there are two options
option A: YOU are right and sotr is not era accurate but still a horribad misstake made by osi staff.
option B: My brother and I (who even still got the original t2a cd ^^) are right = era accurate.

anyways let the facts speak for themselves... i enjoy uosa since sotr like i didnt for a long long time.

i dont really understand the code of the melee patch. i have always contended that some mechanic enabled my halberd to insta hit as in the instant i was adjacent to my combantant in osi t2a era...

the odd .25 sec delay to swing on here sometimes does not ring true for me. i played a little yesterday and didnt really notice much of a diference but i would like true insta hit to be restored.

in order to execute true t2a combos you need to be able to fast cast and hally hit instantly in a high flying nature.

sorry for mispell using my phone.

The current "bugged" system in place while running and charging can really help you out in particular. If you are interested shoot me a pm, and I will explain how you can reallly summon up some kills for the next couple of days.


On the other hand, I think I read the other thread enough to understand what is going on. Next question is, are we going to have to wait that additional .25 after the equip in order to swing? If not, assuming our initial timer is satisfied, we can equip WHILE running at our opponent and swing?

I don't really know for certain how much of it worked just that when i did an ebolt in era.... i would immediately arm my hally and hit sometimes only one tile from the opponent. that doesn't seem to work well here.

also in era nobody had 35 dex as a tank mage and seemed to do fine in no pot duels.

i can remember one specific duel with Optimal on cats where i did a fast cast ebolt combo with cheap vanq i snuck in to the duel to get an unfair advantage. i fast casted the ebolt and killed Opt with a very fast arm and hit with 25 dex and in short range.
