Guide: Interacting with the Bloodrock Orcs
Guide: Interacting with the Bloodrock Orcs
Introduction:
Greebas umie, soh uu wunt tu kom seh da bludchok'hai? ib soh, uu betur hab gug du'ub fer ruhnen ur uu betur beh gug ab clomp'in ur ee'm gib ur hed tu Belok!
The Bloodrock Clan is a guild of players that feel that playing the role of a monster is fun and could increase the fun of the people that fight us or just generally role play with us. We offer an advanced monster that will talk to you, taunt you, harass you, bargain with you, and even attack you with fierce brutality.
Orcs, Visiting, and Battle
It is possible to visit the orcs peacefully as long as you understand a few important facts. First of all, orcs love shiney things. If you bring gold, gems, or other shiney items you can usually buy yourself some time to survive. Food and alcohol are also popular. Be warned though, orcs have a short memory, so you are better off offering up small amounts over an extended time rather than lots at once.
Another important aspect of orcs is that they tend to get into a blood frenzy fairly easily. If the clan just got done fighting off humans or are in the middle of a fight, its possible they'll slay you without a second thought. Be cautious when choosing the time you wish to show up and if a combat occurs, you may want to depart or hide.
If you wish to visit the orc fort or interact, shout out an orcish greeting and drop shineez (shiney things) or food on the ground.
Looting and Murder Counts:
The Bloodrock Orcs are willing to war any guild who wishes it. This is the best way to interact with us without worrying about murder counts. In addition, it allows us to interact without worrying about them.
No orc in the Bloodrock should ever give a murder account, but mistakes do happen. New orcs (snagas) may not understand or may forget. Occasionally a count will be given out of habit. We prefer you don't give us murder counts, but we won't hold it against you.
If you die to us its likely we will pick over your body. We love to grab shinnez and food. In addition, we may replenish our reagents, potions, and bandages if needed. We tend to also be drawn toward magical weapons (so don't bring and use a magical weapon unless you want it in our grubby hands). Otherwise, we tend not loot everything.
Assuming we are not in the middle of a battle, it is also very likely that we will resurrect you. If we do, it is suggested that you remain unarmed and in your death robe so we don't mistake you for another human. Further, you won't be res killed unless you are jumping back into a fight, annoying us, or trying to get your gear back before we finish picking out the shineez.
Update: Many humans have taken to the ways of the vulture. The sneak around the orcish battle fields picking at the loots of the dead. Do not mistake your missing loot as being stolen by orcs, as it is far more likely these vultures plucked your precious gear. Never carry anything you can't afford to lose, whether you fight the Bloodrock or not.
Language:
There is no set orcish language. The Bloodrock language uses a bit of Black Speech, from Lord of the Rings, with a lot of distorted English words. An occasional Warcraft word is thrown in for flavor. It is quite possible that if you picked five different orcs and asked them how to say something, each would tell you something different.
You can see an outline of our language on our web page but here are some common words that may help you survive.
Greebas - Hello. The basic orcish greeting. Usually a human saying Greebas will get our attention and may make us pause for a second rather then dropping an axe in your skull.
Gug'ye - Goodbye.
Grub - Food. Always an orcish favorite. Note, this can also mean horse and the reason we have the same word for food and horse should be obvious.
gug - Good
bahd - Bad
mojo - Magic
mojoka - magic user
dabu - thank you
Snaga - Orcish peons, the lowest rank
Klerg'r - warrior
Klerggoth - Chieftain
ise - one
ta - two
tra - three

Re: Guide: Interacting with the Bloodrock Orcs
It's just not UO without the Bloodchok Hai.
I'm really glad you ...folks are here.
If you are a war guild, and not at war with the Bloodrock Orcs, Then you aren't a war guild!

Re: Guide: Interacting with the Bloodrock Orcs
Oh yes, I'll be visiting your Orcish horde soon.
Re: Guide: Interacting with the Bloodrock Orcs
I've fought with the blood orcs at the first location.
There is no loot for killing them, and they are about double the strength of a regular orc.
Not worth my time or effort.

Re: Guide: Interacting with the Bloodrock Orcs
I never simply slew an Orc for its loot, I killed them to spill their blood.
Re: Guide: Interacting with the Bloodrock Orcs
You forgot to mention what to do when an orc demands tribute. (or however an orc would spell it - definately does not mean a poor quality cover of Led Zeppelin's greatest hits)
Gotta say, it made me smile real big when the bloodrocks came calling near delucia.

Bump. Updated that add a little more to the looting section pending the many complaints the dead had on the night of Cove.
