(non) Grandfathered blessed black sandals BROKE!

Hi everybody,

I have had this pair for a while--I got it from Zelf in reward for potion bomb townkilling some targets that he called out for his "Free show" at West Brit bank a few months ago--I'll have to post the video some time, it's hilarious. (it appeared he was quitting at the time b/c he was giving things like 100k out per target killed).

I have taken the gamble (I'm sure Zelf the gambler--he ran a dice betting service if you remember--would be proud) and subjected them to over 5 hours of two macers beating on me, and they have not broken. I'm going to leave it running even longer just to make sure, but I'm pretty sure by now that they are GFed.

Bidding starts at a tower deed. Minimum of small house deed bid increments. I'm going to make this a fairly short auction, and say that it ends tomorrow at 11:59pm EST.

Buyout is a Castle deed.

Sorry I was not clear. I obtained them from another player (Zelf) a few months ago. The sandal's history is therefore a mystery--he (or whoever he got them from) could have had it for a looong time (which is why I needed to test them).

Excellent question: I offer the following options:
(1) You can arrange your own beat-test... I'll have my guy sit through it.
(2) I can post my packet videos in which I have recorded my guy getting beat by macers with nothing but these sandals on for a looooong time (now THAT's good television)
(3) You can just take my word for it.

I'm happy to do any of these 3 options for the lucky soul who wins this auction

Zelf was a RL friend of mine and he was given 2mill gold and a few items, including those sandals, by a player that was quitting.

He was given these items before xmas last year so im 99% sure they are GF'ed

I hate to be the bearer of bad news (it's mostly bad news for me), but I continued beating the sandals all throughout today and they appear to have broken. The worst part is that I did this on my laptop (which has a newer client version on it) and the packet video I was taking doesn't work because of that (on either the newer or older client) so I don't really know what exactly happened and when... all I know is I logged in and my character was dead b/c the macers ran out of bandages... and when I ressed him, the sandals were not in his backpack so they must have broken (unless the newer client screws with blessed items, which seems doubtful). I am extremely surprised that it survived over 5 hours of 2 macers beating him and still turned out not to be GF'ed (especially after what Robbbb said).

Oh well... just gotta roll with the punches ... I bet Zelf is rolling in his grave with laughter (The house always wins!). I'm glad I didn't sell anyone a faulty product at least

So I'm sorry to say that I must cancel this auction. I suppose I was premature in assuming that they were grandfathered. Wish I could give you a video of the blessed black sandals breaking, but I can't.

Yea, it's especially unfortunate because I'm planning to cut way back on my play time in the near future and was planning to do some awesome event stuff on the way out ... there goes my funding lol. The lesson to learn is not to gamble... 300k would have worked all right . I guess I just wanted to make these event super awesome
