lockpicking

Post by platy »

has anyone GM'd it?
Im at 94.7 and went through 600 lockpicks on "a locked treasure chest" @ Yew crypts and didn't gain .1
is this normal? if anyone GM'd it could you please let me know what I'm doing wrong this is getting too costly- i made this char to make money not consume all of it..=\
btw i feel like skill gain is too slow here.. i been here almost 2 months and only have 1 6x char.. =o (maybe im slow but jesus gains r slow..)

If the one you tried to pick is in a room by itself and a lich lord spawns in the room with it, you cant pick it till GM. and you wont gain off of it. Lockpicking is the slowest to GM, ive been working on it off and on for 2 months and im only at 97.4.

it takes about 5 days to make a 7X gm mage here, definitely not too slow.

5 days to 7x gm a mage? Surely you're exaggerating? Do you mean actually playing it, or just macroing?

i doubt he's exaggerating.. but then again he's prolly got 100k in the bank to macro immedietly. Again platy is my first and only char here.. it'd be impossible to get him 7x in 5 days.. shit its been 52 days and i only am 6x D":
i think its too slow here (if i didnt already loose all my houses on other shards i'd be playing them again) but i did- so i guess i'll keep trying here.

We've tried to strike a good balance with skill gain, OSI was slow as death, but we didn't all have jobs and lives back then.

I started here about 3 weeks ago, and already have a 6x GM Mage (with 94 resist) and a 6x Dexxer (with 85ish resist).... and i started with nothing. I also have 98 Blacksmith character... now, none of these have lockpicking so I can't speak to that skill personally, but for all the others I totally disagree it is "too slow" or "too hard for a n00b to get built quickly".

I started here 2 months ago, and every character I own is 7x except for my tamer.. If you know how to macro then everything is really quite simple, you just need the supplies =\

Since this has kinda gone on the topic of how long to 7x etc., what is the average gold a provo/mage should expect to farm in an hour? I think I do about 45-60k an hour on deamons.

Or you could just move from every high-level spawn and kill them..

yes its possible, i've done it on platypus-c couple times.. not exactly worth it though u need to start off with like 7 or 8 daemons summoned then keep EV'ing it after there's only like 4 daemons left
