Fixed: small issue with wandering healers (UPDATED WITH PRO

Post by ClowN »

this is really not a big issue but i do remember during t2a, if you used provocation on a wandering healer (even if you have 0.0 skill in provo), it would lower your karma by quite a bit. i remember actually macroing this sometimes just to get my char down to Dread status lol. the healer did NOT have to kill a target or anything, as soon as you used provoke and targeted them, your karma would drop. this is not the case on this server. hope someone else remembers this little bug.

Just small note, most actions in game did not have the ability to drop your karma below a particular point. PKing innocent players with positive karma, stealing, snooping, summoning daemons, and several other actions that resulted in the "You have lost some karma." message while at 0 karma were generally good guidelines for the limit on how low your karma would drop from those actions. Most negative actions would place you in rank -3 or rank -4 karma (stealing was a definite skill that did this).

A quick example of something that could drop your karma to the rank -5 level on OSI during T2A was killing NPC nobles for their gold and magic items. That particular profession would eventually net you the -5 "outcast" title which barred me from purchasing items from vendors until you could bring your karma back up to the -4 level (it took many many nobles to do this, and did not take much time to pull yourself out of the negative).

as i remember it (and this was a while ago so i could be wrong here), i dont think they actually went aggressive. You would get a message stating something along the lines of "that cannot be provoked" when you would target the healer, but it would still drop your karma for attempting it.

not sure if there is any documentation out there to prove or disprove this but i definatly remember using provo on wandering healers to lower my karma all the way down. or atleast to the level right before dread status, the more i think about it i remember having to kill nobles to get the dread title but i know this trick atleast took u down to the -4 level on karma.

I remember this as well, I spent a week getting to -4 and then killing nobles and seeker of adventure NPCs to get to -5
