Dexer's 7th skill

Stats 100,80,45 (may go 85/40)

Skills

100 Fence
100 Tact
100 Anat
100 Healing
100 Resist
100 Magery

For last skill im torn between hiding and archery.

Im thinking this will mostly be a town fighter but with the resist/magery he should be able to venture outside of town.

Hate having to use 1/2 my mana on a hide. What is more useful for a townie/field fighter. Hide or Archery?

with no med you will spend a long time not doing anything due to not having mana and unable to get in back in a timely fashion.

being someone that regularly fights dexxers, gm hiding is really fuckign annoying becasue dexxers can hide when i am attacking them and right beside them or two tiles away

never been a fan of 1 handed weaps and parry...

Already have 98ish resist and i havnt gm'd magery yet so 100 resist is there to stay...

It will be a guild war char that i plan to use in the field/town and dungeons and perhaps tournies?

I would really like to use archery as that what i used on my old school OSI dexer as a 2nd skill but i dont know how useful it is here...

After i open up with a heavy xbox bolt and them im on you with a long spear before you know whats going on.... will archery have any use after this point?

Hiding is certainly a useful skill in being able to be pick your fights and also for escape if needed.

Magery is there for weaken/poison/para if needs be but mostly for emergency GH/Cure.

Med? Dunno if it's worth it as I rarely ever play dexxers.

If you can afford it, poisoning would be pretty kickass.

on osi in towny guild wars mace/parry was the dominant towny warrior
but a war axe would reduce your opponent to being naked in a few bandages
duno if that is currently the case here, i have a fencer/med dexxer i wear studded leather on, and i have parry/macer dexxer

on atlantic i towny battled with a fencer/archer and had lots of success
and magic bows were/are cheap and can do lots of damage in field fights

i used the macer for tournys and the fencer for field
i prefer the macer, feels more like the char i used to play alot

On my dexxers in the past I always chose archery because when you dex someone down and they start to run you can equip bow and chase after them until the swingtimer is over and then just stop and hope you hit them. But here there is a 1 second delay so I don't think that it would be as effective.

Tactics
Anatomy
Healing
Resist
Parry
Archery

Having no magery does suck because recall scrolls do take awhile can yeah, it would be nice to have the ability to poison, para.

Who knows though, I may change it up, but this was my OSI Towie's set up and in a real town war, this set up is pretty handy with a team.

Parry is nice against an insta-hally hit. You can whack them with a poison kryss and take little damage.

The main quesiton is, what do you plan on doing with your character? I have resist only to venture out from time to time but if I went pure townie then I'd drop it for enough magery to fuel a pioson, para combo or... just do GM Hiding.

Hiding isn't gonna help you much with purple potions in the field but in town, you'd be golden.

Yea, if you're gonna be rolling with others I'd say Archery. If you're gonna roll solo I'd say hiding.

You never know when you may have to shake a few of peta's pets off ya lol

I have a 7x parry/fenc/resist warrior and let me tell you that fencing is the biggest waste of a combat skill.

I had full arch suit on, power +15 warfork including a heater shield on and chumbucket almost killed me 3 times wearing nothing but a fucking bone chest piece and a GM qstaff.

was your fork poisoned?

kryss and LS or sometime SS are all i use...

regardless, swapping weapon is the easiest thing to do on a 7x dexer... doesnt help me decide if investing in archery is worth it or not.

This sucks, i really would like to use a archery combo but i cant really make the skill useable....can I?

Amen. Fencing is screwed here and it's certainly NOT late '99 PvP. I know I complain about this but something is amiss. All there's to point at is some archived Stratics page but the memory of several dexxers do not support what we see here on this server.

If fencing was anything like it is here during '99 OSI I would have switched back then in a heart beat.

Look, there's a reason why townies and dexxers all went fencing... it's just missing here. PLS FIX.

Fencing was the only melee that had a chance against tank mages. I kinda bragged a little about killing mages with just a dagger but that story was not made up. I could whack most with just my collection of newbied DPed daggers I carried.

It went a little something like this...

When reliable information is produced that supports this we would implement something like this ASAP. However, the evidence that supports our combat tables are more than likely a 100% accurate and reliable. The table that was previously used before the '99 table that is listed on Stratics is 100% accurate to the code for the weapon's table in the UO Demo. This tells me that the previous Stratics table is completely accurate, which serves to reason that the table in '99 is also 100% accurate.

Also, it is highly possible that people that remember fencing being dominant are remembering the era's incorrectly. People have to remember that before February '99 swing speed was based ONLY on your dex instead of stamina. During this period, before the '99 table was implemented, a kryss was much quicker than a katana. This was later changed with the implementation of the newer '99 weapon's table.
