I'd nearly agree with you but I started my dexxer in August '99 and played right up UO:R. My memory of UO is based solely on T2A. So, I'm pretty sure I'm not mixing things up.Faust wrote:When reliable information is produced that supports this we would implement something like this ASAP. Also, it is highly possible that people that remember fencing being dominant are remembering the era's incorrectly. People have to remember that before February '99 swing speed was based ONLY on your dex instead of stamina. During this period, before the '99 table was implemented, a kryss was much quicker than a katana. This was later changed with the implementation of the newer '99 weapon's table.
Before August, I played Tanks and got bored, not to mention PWNed by my friend who brought out his dexxer and wanted to spar with me to work Parry. A month later, my own 7x GM dexxer was the only PvP character I played for combat.
{I always wore an Orc Helm and tried to look as NoOB as possible... Sometimes even armed with a fishing pole on some bank near the edge of town.... it was nearly as much fun as staging fake house falls and planting GM Tinker traps....}
I sincerely wish I could find more concrete evidence, that’s why I posted requesting if anyone had a link to the old Stratics Combat Simulator.
Something is off Faust; I just don't know what it is or how to prove it to fix it.
Does anyone know who was the lead developer for the 1st and 2nd Combat changes? I wonder if a well written email to one of these guys would shed some light and perhaps provide some insight if not some other nuggets of T2A development hints. I’m guessing it’s DesignerDragon.
