I wasnt directing that towards you specifically. Just a response to the notification of this being abuse. And ya you could get on irc and ask for a gate, but that doesnt mean you will get one.

It's true. Bossman has said that help/stuck is only supposed to be used if you are physically stuck in the game. I don't know if the word 'abuse' is taking it too far or not, but it is definitely frowned upon if you use it just because you died, are lost, or are on some island you don't know how to get off of.

In 1999, if you got gated and left somewhere, like 3-tile island, you could page a GM and they would teleport you back somewhere on the mainland. They'd also do this if you were bugged/stuck.

Given that the Help/Stuck option here aims to remove the need to page a GM, and given the reasons that people paged a GM back in the day (and got moved by the GM), I think it's perfectly ethical to use it in situations like this.

And given that >50% of the playerbase here abuses the heck out of everything they possibly can, including other things that weren't present in 1999 (like Razor features), I think it's absolutely OK to use the Help/Stuck feature whenever the F you want. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
