How is the community on this shard?
I played divinity in the past, and I was dissappointed with how hard it was for a new player to get started due to the fact that pk's seem to specifically target and greif new players. I feel this was one of the major contributing factors as to why Divinity failed. When the new players can never get a start, your player base quickly dwindles. So I was just curious, as I am considering playing this shard, does it have as many greifers and new player killers as divinity? Are new players able to mine and kill things at the graveyard without being pk'd every 15 minutes?

There are pkers and griefers, but you can usually avoid them if you play smart. Avoid high traffic areas. Be prepared to recall at all times. It won't prevent you from getting started. And there are plenty of nice people that will help you.

Hunting at Brit GY is a common newbie mistake. No matter what shard you log on, if the population is over 100 and it isn't Trammel, you're going to have that 1 pathetic red who finds the need to swing though the GY.
The community is great here, some people say there's a red problem, but if you're coming from Divinity you'll see that we actually have a "red shortage" compared to them. Just stay on your toes and you'll do great here

unfortunatly griefing is era accurate for UO....
As Chum said if you avoid high traffic areas (such as West brit bank, Brit GY, entrance of shame, destard lvl 1, maybe harpy room, etc.) you should be grief free.
You will still always need to be on the look out for reds, but that is what makes the game fun and not like trammel...
If you need any help getting on your feet drop me a pm or look for me in IRC.
Welcome, hope you like it here!

I've played on OSI T2A, IPY, Divinity, and here now.
It's early here but this is alot closer to OSI pre UO:R than either of them in terms of the # of griefers and reds. I haven't been hunting in high-end level areas, but... yesterday I saw 4-5 others hunting and never saw a red in a couple hours of playing.
Lot's of spawns and stuff in the woods, graveyards, fort, deep in dungeons where I think you'll be fine.
Remember, a true red-PK isn't looking for a duel/fight... if you somehow meet up with another player or two... you'll reduce their chances of taking that risk to even engage too.

Apparently you don't know how the pk community works on this server.GzA wrote:I've played on OSI T2A, IPY, Divinity, and here now.
