Post by Maehix »

Could someone link and/or explain to me how much dex/int to have and what the most common build is?

Mine is:

Magery
Swords
Tactics
Anatomy
Healing
Resist
Eval Int

95 str
80 dex
50 int

The build will depend on how you utilize your char...This build is more for 1 on 1 dueling

It all depends on your style of play and what you want to do with that character. On my red dexer i roll solol mostly.

100 all
Fence
Archery
Anatomy
Healing
Resist
Tactics
Hiding

100 str
100 dex
25 int

I run Archery purely for the opening hit with a heavy X then immediately switch to war fork or kryss. Have hiding for when I get into trouble and try to duck around a corner and get hidden while my bandages apply/trick the enemy to run past etc etc...

I almost always have a 2nd account run in the back for gates for use of travel and "oh shit" situations(gotta know where your marked locations are!).

Could easily swap hiding for magery so I could cure/heal/recall etc but the current build works fine for what I want to do.

Click my sig to see my tourny success with him, for having a waste skill in hiding i did pretty well in 1v1s while those lasted.

Cool build, personally I don't think I'd sacrifice the 5 str for 5 intel.

Are meditation dexers viable on here? I was thinking of making one

Fence or maces maybe
Tact
Anat
Heal
Resist
Mage
Med

With a misc stat assortment I havent decided on yet.

The character would mainly be used for field pvp situations with one other player usually.

I have always felt "hybrids" were gimped characters, as they are neither a good dexxer nor a good mage, but to each his own. Some people find a good way to use them and are successful doing it.

Never mind how dead I am atm...

...and how unfinished the skills are. Will eventually be gm mage, eval, heal, tact, mace, 90 resist, 60 anat, 50 med. Seriously gimped against dexers, but pretty efficient 1v1 against a tank.
Save yourself the shame and embarrassment and just assume that if you can't understand me...you're the one who's retarded.

Like a boss......that sucks at PvP. :)

Oh wait, that's uncommon and using the term 'hybrid' loosely.

The thing with "hybrid" or "med" dexxers like the one Kabal rocks, is that you get to GM magery, but with only 25 INT. This means your mana limits you to 6th circle spells (7th circ requires 40 mana, which you will not have), and yet at 90.1 magery you have a 100% chance of succeding at casting 6th level spells, so that's 10 (or more depending on the stat bonus) points wasted that could be used for something else.

Ok, so you go to 30-35 mana and with a bless creep up to 40-45 mana...thing is Bless is a 3rd circle spell which will eat up 9 mana...and you were (at least) 5 mana away from a 7th circ. to start with, so you need to pasively gain (at least) 14 mana before being able to cast 7th circ, because if you are meditating, then the action will probably be done by the time the bless wears off. All this while wearing armor which hinders your pasive med.

my guy:

Anatomy
Fencing
Resist
Magery
Healing
Meditation
Tactics

100/80/45

Shit against dexxers, good against mages. Hard to get a killing blow either way. Have a really good weapon and a lot of pots and you'll do good. Very strong at survivability, not the best finisher. I also tinkered with eval replacing med, but I like having med and using the magic defensively. Against mages you don't really need to wear armor, which helps mana regen, but you get shredded against a dexxer without it.
