Bowcraft / Macro help

Post by Jakolb »

Hi
I'm new to the shard and methods I've used on other shards don't seem to be working here so any assistance would be great. Here's the method I've used in the past.
Have a stack of logs in your bag. Move 1 single log out of the pile, then move the remaining pile. Now when the single log is targeted it uses one from the pile. This way it s easy to set up a macro that targets the single with a bunch of knives in turn to keep bowcraft ticking over. Yes it gets long winded at the higher levels before GM'g but allows you to keep up your stock of arrows to GM your archery! The same can be done with the shafts / feathers combo and of course for a newbie it's an easy way to get Dex to required level as well.

Here however it seems like no matter what all of your logs will be used up in the first attempt, with only a single gain. I've had a read on the forums but haven't seen anything relevant. There is a post which has something about using boards not logs but that doesn't help in this case. (as it's been a while how do you make boards?)

thanks

I've never worked bowcraft/fletching, but I seem to understand what you need, and I'd suggest using a restock agent/organizer agent to do it on a 1 by 1 basis.

To make boards you simply get some carpenters tools (a saw will do) and then you double click your saw and in the option box that appears the first thing you see will be boards. Will not make a difference for bowcraft though mate, so the best thing to do is as pirul says and use razor's restock agent macro.

OK not used that at all in the past so will take some reading I guess. Can anyone point me in the direction of an idiots guide to doing so? Also, do you have to be in a secure location to do this - I imagine I could cause quite some lag if I'm sat at a bank chuntering away like this.

thanks

Don't worry about being in a bank, everyone without a house macros at a bank. Although I would suggest going to a less-visited town such as Jhelom, Skara Brae or Occlo to macro, as there are a lot of griefers that will kill you for no reason other then to piss you off.

As for the macro it should run something like this:

1) Put all your logs into your bank.
2) In your "Agents" tab in Razor, click the dropdown box and select any of the "Restock" options, when that is selected click the Add(Target) button and select the logs in your bank.
3) Set the amount to 1 and set the hotbag as any bag in your inventory.
4) Create a hotkey in the "Hot Keys" tab in Razor to use the Restock agent.
5)In the same "Agents" tab in Razor, select the "Organiser" option and add the finished Arrow that you crafted, set the Hot bag as something in your bank.
6) Create another hotkey in the "Hot Keys" tab in Razor to use the Organiser agent.
7) Buy lots of saws so they don't wear out

7) Record the macro, it should look something like:
-Execute Organiser Agent #;This is to make sure you don't have any arrows in your pack
-Pause 1sec
-Execute Restock Agent #
-Pause 1sec
-Double Click item Saw by type ;make sure you right click and select the "Convert DClick by Type"
-Select option
-Pause (however long it takes to create the arrows 10sec I think)
-Loop

Not exactly sure on the materials/tools you need, but this is the basic macro you will need. If you have a pretty laggy connection and the macro keeps timing out, you may want to increase the delay for the pauses.
Please choose a more appropriate signature.

It is actually quite simple, and you CAN work it in a bank.

Go to Razor -> Agents tab -> restock agent 1 (from the dropdown menu)

Then do add target, target the logs (or boards), select qty (I suggest doing 1 for what you want).

Now, put any sort of container in your bank (bag, backpack, pouch, crate, etc.)

Razor -> Agents tab -> organizer agent 1

Then add target, target the shafts (or arrows or bows, whatever you're making), then set hotbag and target the container you put in your bank.

Now go to Razor -> hotkeys tab -> agents subcategory

Bind a hotkey for restock agent 1 and another for organizer agent.

Now record a macro that looks something like:

Execute: restock agent 1
Wait for target
Target self
Pause 1s
(whatever you're doing here with a pause at the end so you finish your work)
Execute: organizer agent 1
Pause 2s

That's it. You should be good.

OK thanks for the restock / organiser help - got all that sorted now. I'm pulling my hair out with the actual crafting macro at the moment, I guess I must have used UOAssist last time as it certainly wasn't as complex as this.

I recorded my actions and have played around with pause times but no matter what I haven't been able to get it to properly select the log (target) to enable it to bring up the craft menu (where you select shaft / bow etc). It would work exactly the same if you were making from ingots etc so more reading to be done I guess.

Was a damn sight easier when the move single thing, move pile, target single would use a single item from the main pile. Hello admins can you change this please ;)

Hmmmm...are you using a dagger?

If so, what you need to do is:

Dbl click dagger
Wait for target
Absolute target

Now select the absolute target line and right click on it and then change to target by type.

In my experience, Razor is actually a lot more useful than Assist.
