fishing macro help

Post by Bobcat Brown »

I'm not sure what is going on. I'm trying to set up a simple fishing macro (that I will not afk!!!) from shore. I have done this very successfully on plenty of other shards, and never have run into this problem so I want to see if anyoen else knwos what is going on.

My macro is this.
Dbl Click Fishing Pole
Wait for target
Target Relative Location
Pause

When the macro runs, it asks me where I want to fish and it seems to untarget and does nothing. I get no messages (nothign to say fish don't bite or whatever). Basically..I record it and absolute target works..but then I keep having to retarget everytime I move my character. But the second I change it from absolute to relloc..it does nothing. I have tried targeting further out from the coast...and all other kinds of spots and nothign seems to work. I'm using the preferred version of UO client from what I can tell (5.0.something i believe?) so i'm all out of guesses...but as I've said..I have done this on plenty of other shards and it has not been a problem.

Y'know, I had the same exact problem when I first started my fisher a couple weeks ago. Target relative location would simply not work from shore after moving. My solution was to use absolute target and re-target after every move.

Thankfully relative location works fine from the boat, but I never did get relative to work consistently from shore. If you do find a solution, let me know.

Suppose its possible it was set up this way to stop afk fishing...but I'm not planning on afking it..just a lot easier to do it with rel loc :P

Set up the macro by targeting a tile, then right click on the 'absolute target' line of the macro and select 'change to relative location' off the menu that pops up.
