Client Freezes/Lockups

Post by Hemperor »

Quite often in game, ESPECIALLY when a new corpse appears on my screen (someone dies) my client will freeze/lock up for a good 10 seconds (even says not responding in the title) but will eventually come back to normal..This happens many times a day and it's really ruining the gameplay for me...

Anyone else experienced this or have any information on the matter?

If razor is set up to take screenshots on death, perhaps it would cause this lag. Is this feature enabled for you hemp?

This happens to me too on one of my PC's but not the other. I do belive I have auto-screen capture turned on.

Also, I've heard of people under Vista having better results if the enable compatability mode with Windows XP (Service Pack 2) int the razor shortcut porperties.

I don't have vista.

I turned off the auto capture thing, only played for a few minutes since then and had a few slight freezes, nothing as serious as what happens with the corpses...so it may be 2 different issues

I have both razor and UO client set to the highest priority in the task manager for about a month now, could this affect anything?

If you mean you have them set to "realtime", yes. I wouldn't put them above "High"

This feature has always done nothing but bad things for me. Anytime I run a program at anything above normal it causes EVERYthing to run slower. Persoanlly I recommend not even messing with that feature of windows.

Okay, I took off auto death screen capture and that cleared up the corpse freezing..even when I screenshot normally now it tends to freeze so that explains that..

But I also get random lockups, twice in the past two days killing me to tamers...it is extremely annoying, has no one else experienced this?

Running in compatability mode with XP (SP2) has solved this trouble for some people
right click on razor -> properties -> compatability -> Run in compat... Win XP (SP2)
