Unfortunately, the forum karma system is extremely buggy. I have noticed this behavior myself.

Until I saw this thread I'd never bothered to really look into the user rep feature. I've left some positives for a few people but mostly I just thanked them openly on the boards. Now I see that a bunch of people have left me rep and I wasn't even aware of it.

I have nothing personal against the system at this point but if I'd been rep-reamed like the OP I'd probably be saying the exact same thing about it. I wouldn't say that just because people haven't abused the system against me or certain other posters that it is a good system, because the potential is there for anyone to do it at any time if they so choose.

I am not stating an opinion; just an observation. Unfortunately for the naysayers of forum karma, the part that actually deals with assigning karma works perfectly. Its only the part that allows you to view an itemized list of who assigned you what karma that is buggy :)
