I have to side with Telamon on this.

If the rares were picked up during the event, then I say its fair game. But if it was after, and the risk was limited to having to deal with a few players when things were being deleted then no. They should be removed from the owner.

I was at this event at 2pm CST. After about 3 hours of being in and out of the castle, then came back after 730 for about 2.5 hours. I tried to pick stuff up all over in the earlier stages. It would have been easier to do early on in the event when the spawn was weaker.. Unfortunately Dupre didnt post about the memoirs until 5:30 so that sucks. But props to Pro for getting em. I dont think this is really a big deal. Or is it only a big deal because he's trying to sell them?

If you think there should be no event rewards why do you sport your trammy mask? where do you think that came from.

he pressed up up down down left right left right B A on his keyboard before creating a new character in UO and the mask was already on his paperdoll. when he got to the map to select which town to start in, instead of getting the normal choices, the map only showed the upcoming IDOC houses. he took a screenshot and the rest is history...

Somewhat. We have been distributing some player donated items. The ranger armor and some other items which appeared at this event were donated.
Telamon wrote:I could be wrong but I remember several events where Braden or Yoda made a mistake and left some items unlocked, They were taken by players, but immediately deleted.
You are likely both wrong and right, however I don't think there is a fixed policy on staff error. Most rares on OSI originated from staff, or code errors. I don't think it's acceptable to take items from players except in the most serious of circumstances.

This thread is another example of creating drama using a public post under the false pretense of asking staff a question. I've asked that if you have a question for staff to ask a staffmember directly. It may not be answered, but it is the proper way to get an answer.

You guys are so god damn annoying. Crybabies... shut up. THIS IS A 1997 VIDEO GAME THAT YOU PLAY FOR FREE. Jesus Christ stop being such losers. If this is how you act in a game, I can't even fathom what you would do in REAL LIFE when someone comes and steals your red stapler.

WAAAAAAAAAAA JIMSTIGATOR GOT MY TOYS MOMMY, TAKE THEM BACK HES A BAADDD MAN!

Grow up. Furthermore, you clearly asked for the items to be removed in your first post, so your assertion that you're asking for nothing to be deleted is a lie.
Telamon wrote:Shouldn't these items be deleted and maybe a "whoops" item be provided to the player, similar to the Wind Houses, Yoda's superbowl event trophy he gave to the player that found his unlocked event items. etc.
Yup, there it is.
Because that is the normal method a GM would address accidentally leaving items unlocked during an event. Obviously in this case that didn't happen, ergo the point of this post.

Go post your comments in trash talk where they belong chainsoar. Rather than read the first line, see I posted it, and immediately begin posting pointless rage.
His point is you clearly asked for these items to be deleted. You would not have done so if you were the recipient of these items. Not really trash talk.

Personally i was right next to Pro when he was picking up the items.
after i saw how he go into that room I immediately followed.

Congrats to Pro for collecting those items, it was WELL DESERVED!!!
i also snagged up a few semi-rares

Events like this are the only thing that currently spark my interest in the game. its great to see that someone like me (few days over a year on the server) still have the opportunity to snag up some awesome items!
maybe i did not collect anything as great as vines but I Look forward to the next event for that possibility!!!

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK UOSA GMS!!!

Yuri - AMEN!

Unfortunately, we are surrounded by a plague, and thats overzealous "veteran" players with 50+ million in UO assets. They didn't get these silly rares from the event, and therefore... they revert to policy.

Thought process of the babies - "Hum... my uber code macro didn't auto walk my characters to an event, loot all valuables, sort, pillage, and plunder. Welp... must be a policy issue... I better bring it up in a public manner that's completely inappropriate... DERRICK!!!!!!!!!"

Fortunately, Derrick isn't an idiot.

This thread needs more trash talk so it gets moved.

This is BS. When the castle fell, all items should of been taken to telamons castle, anything extremely rare, should of anyone got anything nicer, should of went in telamons bank box. This is absolutely insane. Donate your items and time to Telamon to keep the economy safe, or be executed. (nice rares btw)
