Hi, Ive got that UO itch here after over a decade. I havent played since I left when Trammel was implemented and my beloved Pax Lair turned to a ghost town.
I played on the Chesapeake server, first with the Miners of Chesapeake guild and later joined Caitiff, where I stayed until UO's demise.
Just coming back to the game I am refreshing some old leveling tactics and working on figuring out where to start now... its tough. I remember now what made UO what it was. Its the difficulty and time needed to really perfect a character. Nothing is linear. I like it, but its overwhelming to someone that has been dumbed down by the current MMO schemes.
So, where are the Chesapeake people? What does this server have to offer to someone that loved the old Faction Wars and the style of play that was PVP and community oriented?
And how should I get started?
New to the server, first time back since 2001.

Welcome to UOSA!
I highly recommend the following tutorial for new players & returning veterans alike

I'm afraid that I played Pacific, but I believe many people on this shard played Chesapeake (including Derrick, the owner & developer of UOSA)
I would say that PvP is very active on this server. However, it is generally more isolated conflicts (2v2 up to 4v4) rather than big ol' community bashes (although those occasionally happen). Of course, players do sometimes organize events that involve large teams (e.g. CTF). I've personally really enjoyed the PvP and community on this shard.
Good luck!

Most people like us, or at least they like what we do. Regardless, we appreciate all our victims, and we hope that their encounter with us is a memorable one.

Hey thanks a lot!
Im hoping to get back on my feet here pretty quickly. Working on Stats on a couple characters now. Ill jump straight into my old set up with my Bard/Carto and HalbyMage. I look forward to getting back into it.
Although... macroing herding sucks.
Hopefully I can get these characters out of the way and make some money so that I can skill cap and raise stats instead of maxing herding and stuff. Blah. Welcome to old school UO

Hey, welcome to the shard. You found the right place.
I played chessy the same time as you, and often hung out in Pax Lair, it was a shame how Trammel killed it, it was one of the finest RP communities on any UO shard. While honestly, you won't find Pax Lair here, there are some great communities and guilds.

I played Chesapeake. My main char name was RYAN. Also you will soon find out, the admin of this server is also an old school Chesapeake player. Welcome here, its a fun server. And most importantly, you will notice there is no staff corruption. Even though with some staff changes all of a sudden there are more rares then you can count but....i don't see that really hurting anybody except telamon.

Hey guys, thanks.
And to the chessy folks, it will be nice to see some familiar faces and folks that share the memories. Pax Lair was awesome. Some of my fondest memories come from the folks we gamed with there and the stories we all helped eachother make.
I was Devilkin on the pvp side of it all and Ewan Pentecost through Pax Lair.
Ran with Caitiff most of the time... Talia, Seifer, Gavin Pentecost...
I know I wont find a Pax Lair anywhere... but I look forward to finding some great friends and community here.
Im macroing away
