This sounds tempting. Do I get free shipping to Finland?

On the subject though, first of all congratulations to Light Shade for winning the auction on the 1654s and my thanks for a fast, safe trade.

Regarding the 1634s, here's a post I wrote to someone interested in the sandals who complained that I closed the auction prematurely and refused to sell a pair of sandals someone won.

Fine.

Let's think. Since when has posting the reserve price been mandatory to be public knowledge? If it was, it would be pointless to make any bids below that. Yeah, there might be a few people desperate for cash and sell below their intended reserve price, but like I said your bid wasn't even near so I've no reason to accept it. Of course since even stating a reserve price is not binding by any means here, at least until we get a proper auction system, you might miss sales even if the seller puts a reserve price as public information. If you don't understand how reserve price works, go check eBay or something and figure it out. I bet there's a guide to this on eBay, too.

Buyout/buy-it-now is of course entirely different - as you may or may not know, it instantly closes the auction while people can still post bids after the reserve price has been met. I didn't have a buyout for either pair of these sandals, just the reserve price which is not public knowledge. Yes, I could have announced that the reserve has been met and sandals will sell, but since it wasn't met I didn't make such an announcement.

Secondly, I did state that I will end the auction Sunday evening my time. Light Shade was actually the only one who bothered to look at the location information below my username and figure out where I live and when Sunday evening might be. I didn't state I'd end the auction 12 hours after last bid or anything like that and things quieted down, so I ended it Sunday evening my time, as I clearly stated in the OP. Obviously you didn't bother to read the original post well enough, since you complained about this.

I really didn't ask how you feel about the color of the sandals, either you make a bid or you don't make a bid. People did place bids, but no one won the auction, as the reserve price was never met.

If this is beyond your comprehension, I suggest you go check eBay guides or something similar. English is not my first language, so I think they can explain it way better over there anyways. I admit I could have done a better job at announcing a specific hour when the auction closes, but a) interest seemed to slow down and b) it was nowhere near the reserve price, so I didn't bother to do so. I spend my working life double- and triple-checking everything, so I don't really feel the need to do so when I play UO and relax. This is of course different in UO when a transaction has been agreed upon, but as such circumstances never existed regarding this auction, I didn't feel the need to be too exact.

Good luck on your search of the sandals you want.

This is the first I've heard of it, and seeing as I had high bid when it ended, presumably you should have let me know before this rant to someone else.

Reserves are always stated, if not the value, that it exists... before an auction ends. You had ample opportunity to mention it prior (and a start price on top of it). Either way, good luck in your future sales, I value my time more than wasting it wondering if you'll really honor your auctions or not.
