Poisoning in the field

I'm looking to get some feedback from those who have taken Poisoning as a skill on their PvP or PvM character. Has it been worth it for you?

Or is it much easier to just recall to a guild house where you have an Alchemist that can just keep re-poisoning your weapon(s)?

I'm deciding wether or not to take Poisoning on my Assassin/Dexxer type. The alternate skill I would take is Tracking as I will be stealthing around and watching targets. I'd rather know they are in a general area instead of hiding when I see their name pop up on my screen.

I am just having difficulty weighing the pros and cons of Tracking vs. Poisoning. If I could poison, it'd add to the roleplay aspect of my character and I could re-apply my poison with ease in the field and use just one weapon.

I'd personally rather have it on a mule, Transportation and preparation are very easy here. It might be more costly and you would maybe be unprepared a couple of times (maybe when ur staring at phat loot recall as you run out of poisoned weps), but its worth getting another combat skill.

The only reason i'd get poisoning on an assassin is if that char doesn't have magery. I'd still think otherwise and maybe have another character gate in equipment every now and then.

I'd say carry pre-poisoned (GP or DP) weapons, but if you are really "into poisoning", toss like 25-30 poisoning paired with 70-75 magery on your character. This way you can just carry lesser poison which is effective against warriors, should the situation come up
