as people say recall macro and knowing where to go is big...
a mage bard is ideal but you can't jump into lich lords or AW untill your more upto speed,
try orgre lord room i made great money there to gm magery and my first house.
really takes no time to get up and running, and alot of people will lend out houses to start with.
find a local rune lib and you should be good.

Never once have I sheared a sheep to be able to pvp, lol. My first character here was Rose the pvp tank-mage, it only took me about 10k and a lil help from friends to be able to start whoopin some ass.
I know the learning curve here is high, but I can assure you, you will not regret learning how to be an ultimate wizard.
