You can't arms lore clothing, which includes sandals.

For sandals durability doesn't really matter, even if these things were at 1/1000 durability, as long as you wore pants and a half apron they would be essentially indestructible.

As long as you regularly swapped the clothing out. Once they drop to the same armor level as the sandals, the sandals will begin taking damage.

When in doubt, change your pants... and watch where you afk.
