You should not be able to ride a nightmare or frenzied if you don't have taming/lore.

Given the 0 retame value I don't see why this shouldn't be possible with era accurate rules

Because of our era emulation, we are on groundhog day here at UOSA. Every day the same. I think for that reason alone we should have automated/scheduled events. This adds a bit of spice and gives you something to do once you are established (compete with your friends). The rewards should be minor and people should be competing for the glory and to be known as the best.

This really seems justified - it's sort of NEA to have tournaments and stuff, but its also NEA to live a groundhog day existence with no future to speak of.

Events aren't really NEA anyway - the whole premis is that we are enjoying the mechanics here on UOSA.
