Absolutely, I've been thinking about it for a while, just have never wanted to invest the time myself. Consider though, a lot of items have been consistently priced throughout shard history, especially "consumer goods", while there have been really drastic price changes in the rares and high-end real estate markets, so that might have unknown effects on trying to get an accurate CPI.
