I installed from the old T2A cd myself. Install then AutoPatch up to 5.0.8.3, cancel the patch shortly after that mark.

You'll have to restart the patcher at least once, around 4.0.0.0 I think, because it get updated.

Then check this link for some more detailed info on actually connecting to SecondAge:
Installing UO and Connecting to Second Age
On that page, you can skip the first step, but you will still need .net framework and Razor

to connect, once you've patched all the way up, install the latest razor, and run razor
with razor up you have an address and port # input areas.. you type in uosecondage.com in the server address, and port 2593, these rest of the input boxes just leave alone.

Again make sure your patched and have latest razor edition.. then plug in the server and port number, create account by simply typing in acct name and password (if name hasn't been used it will autocreate the account, if name has been used you'll get wrong password probably *unless you guessed right ;p)

thats it. create char. play. have fun!
any mroe questions i'll be around just ask

EDIT: razor replaces uo assist.. its practically the same thing with a similar interface..
There is a dedicated uo automap server you can plug into if you have UOAM, port and info are on the main page.

Razor pretty much can do everything that UOA could do. UOA is not compatible with non-OSI shards.

UOAM is highly recommended and we have a dedicated UOAM server available for use. Details are on our main website.

To connect, run Razor, and on the "Welcome Page" of Razor type:
Server: uosecondage.com
Port: 2593

To create an account just make one up and enter a password. Accounts are protected by your ip address but we will soon be adding email account registration.

Looking forward to seeing you in game!

You actually beat me to it by just a few seconds, but I wasn't going to throw away all that typing :)

You'll be in good company, we have a lot of players that have come back to Second Age after having not played for eons.

You may also want to hop into our IRC channel:
IRC Info Here

There's usually players and staff in there that can help out.

5.0.9 should work fine

Go back to the welcome page in razor and make sure you have:
Checked: "Patch Encryption"
UNChecked: "Use OSI Encryption"

That's typically the problem.

ok I did all that and it's still not opening. I just type in account user and password password and it should automatically register me? or do I need to create one?

I may be wrong, but I think the version of razor you are using could be the problem. Try using 1.0.11, that works for me.

Again, not sure but i've had that problem before and I believe the 'new' version of Razor has that effect.
