Good job removing the tournaments...it did absolutely nothing!
Haven't seen any increase in fielding since the removal.

You are not looking at the overall picture... This absolutely does not slow PVP down at all. It will still be possible to do the same frequency of hally hits, but countering them will just be as important unlike it is currently. This is where the comment of "less hally" hits formulates. The difference is less rogue hally hits and instead more skillful hally hits.

There is no point in making someone wrestle at the moment. This iniatially sparks a refresh when unequipping a weapon should before you could ever possibly get your own refresh off. The point was to counter and make them waste their hally hit while you get a jump start on a refresh. This was how it worked during the t2a era and it's not possible to do that here now.

The current system for refresh or "fast swing" was based on the only logical process that could be considered until the new information that I found on an old stratics article describing it. The current system comes down to who gets the luckiest hally hits no matter what. Not who is more skillful at equipping without screwing up your weapon delay, refreshing insta hits, and countering a refresh. The fact is that it's currently inaccurate and needs to be fixed...

Fielding is becoming a less and less frequent thing, it all relates. Not to sound like a bitcher, but no one is going to 1v1 in the field anymore..there is no point...no one is going to field unless they have at least 2 or 3 guys with them. it's really just going to be a gank fest out there and that is all I have been experiencing.

Setting up duels was solely on the players to do on OSI, there was no system set up for players to duel. As such, we have placed that responsibility on players.

For anyone who remembers OSI, there were several very popular places for dueling on OSI such as the Jhelom farms, Deceit, Wrong entrance roof, and many other places. Those places were not set aside for players to duel in by the staff, nor were actual events held in that area. The truth is that the popularity and use of those places was created by the players themselves. That is what your goal is here as pvpers and duelers. You, as a community (yes, you are a community of pvpers as hard as it is to believe) will need to promote particular areas for dueling, and if you want duels to be available, you'll need to put fourth the effort for it.

I think the concensus around here is that dueling is no longer fun and is just pointless...they only worked in tournaments thanks to sudden death... every duel I have been in lately will NOT end until someone runs out of regs or says "f*** this im going on divinity"... every single time.

The defense of these changes usually ignore the points brought up as well. The server is obviously growing but any pvper will tell you that the pvp has in no way increased since we were peaking at 150.

Why did you wait until Feb 13, 2009 to make a forum account?

Good. PK vs. Anti is better than Order/Chaos or guildwars anyway.

I agree. And in open field PK vs. Anti, there are no rules. Some people find that a difficult way of life but it's true UO.
