Fact. I concur.RoadKill wrote:Any of the Staff that does programming should not vote. It is a known fact that 75% of all coders suck at design. We learned this in a programming class I took a few years back

Re: House Deco Contest
me bomb and platy did this last time to have a group of orcs with nothing in their house win. i think we should vote for a panel of judges that are players who vote for the winning house instead of letting everyone voice thier opinion.

Re: House Deco Contest
so lets say any judges who want to put their hat in the ring have until friday, then vote on them till sunday
sunday night they are announced
judges vote on house submitions the following sunday?
fri feb 27 - final day for judge nominations
fri feb 27 - sun mar 1 - judges decided
sun mar 1 - sun 7 house submitions
wed mar 4? judges vote and give final results
this any good?

Sounds like a good timeframe to me
I'll make an announcement about the contest itself after judges have been decided

Re: House Deco Contest
Maybe a larger panel of judges 12-20 for more diversity? What catagories would be judged on, building size, decor theme, creativity ect? Would judges be excluded from entering there buildings completly or just from voting on theres or there guildmates?
I'de be interested in being a judge either way

Re: House Deco Contest
we will let the judges decide the way they will judge and present their method to submitters so they will know whats being judged on.
i think it would be hard to get that many judges that are unbiased. 5 is prolly gona be hard enough.

I use to be huge on house deco on Cheasapeake, i would love to be a judge if yall would like
Re: House Deco Contest
I don't think rares should be factor in how well you can decorate your house. This should be a good event for anyone who owns a house and has a bit of creativityAsh wrote:You can always have a panel of new players judge the houses? Most people that have started within last 2 months do not even have rares or many rares to decorate, not sure just though.

I would also like to throw in my name for the panel of judges.
Re: House Deco Contest
agreed. Judging, in my opinion, should be 100% on creativity with items everyone has access to.Maahes wrote:I don't think rares should be factor in how well you can decorate your house. Re: House Deco Contest
I wouldn't rule out rares entirely...
Creative use of them is obviously something that can outline a person's product...Obviously you don't want to judge something based on how many they have, or simply BECAUSE they have a rare in the house, but if they utilize it in a unique fashion I'd consider a bonus point for that.
The options should be fairly limitless...

Sounds like a good time!
I definitely agree with panel of judges.
Any news on them?
From what I've read -- Loops, Faustus, Hoots, and Maahes have already volunteered?
They all seem like pretty righteous/fair people to me.
