The mounted platemail clad dexxer was a friend of mine, Kurse Neverborne in-game a friend irl outside of game. He related the incidents to me over icq.

I'm not telling you how to be orcs, I'm saying that if in fact your clan is giving counts and calling in "human" reinforcements because you're having a problem defending your turf then you certainly aren't acting like any Shadowclan I have personally belonged to on Great Lakes and Catskills.

Kurse said that he has been to Yew Fort a few times, and there will be no one but orcs around, he will engage them in battle, the battle goes a little south for the orcs (obviously frustrated by the ability of a mounted opponent to off-screen and come back healed) then either a red or some other individual shows up to fight on the orc's side. He hung around the last time as a ghost and said that the orcs knew the individual and had a rather amiable conversation with him. He also stated that the orcs did not attack this individual but allowed him to stay in their company as they looted Kurse's body.

So from that standpoint I can truly say, if Kurse's statement is true, you are really giving a bad name to a GREAT group of players past, present and future who want to see that Shadowclan gets the respect it deserves. (I realize that's a bit corny, but I'm old school that way).

If this is the kind of guild you want to run, maybe change the name and take up residence in the old Bloodrock Fort or Brigand Fort?

Personally I would love to see an old-school Shadowclan tribe take up residence here on UOSA, I have nothing against any of the players who are making characters and getting their orc on. I respect that, I just have a hard time with people taking the Shadowclan name and playing in a style that runs counter to the way Shadowclan has operated since it began.

I realize that Shadowclan is not a trademark and I have no right to tell anyone what name that their guild can or cannot have. I have no way of imposing a set of rules as to how this guild runs it's affairs or interacts with this shard or even who they allow to join the guild. I can only say that my time with Shadowclan was some of the best times I've had in an online game (I've played ALOT of them) and would like to see that kind of play implemented here as well, it would be well worth the time and resources invested.

So I hope there are no hard feelings, I've said my peace and I honestly do wish you folks the best, even if you're not running up to speed yet, hang in there and LONG LIVE SHADOWCLAN!! Rulg agh gulg'ye

Honestly this would be awesome because you got people everyday worrying about getting out of stat (if murderer) or getting attack cause your perma grey. An epic war-zone where no one gets counted would be the best for this server full of EVIL, MEAN, and AGRESSIVE people.
Thanks hope this goes through!

There's something that has been pointed out which really leaves me with some doubts. What's the Shadowclans interactions with humans supposed to be? KoS?

I remember the Bloodrock would first ask for tribute, if tribute was given, then they'd be somewhat friendly in a wild animal kinda way. More than once, we raided the bloodrock's fort and completely took it over...and other times, we'd give the orcs tribute to hace them come to us with Destard to be like a swarm in case reds came rolling in. So even though we fought more often than not, there were also instances of collaboration. What's the Shadowclan's stance on this?

Statloss is an integral part of pking in T2A. Perhaps the most important part.

I was present for that incident. Although I can't speak for everyone in the clan, as I'm not a mind reader, I can speak for myself and the orcs who follow me as leader of the Ghaash'blud tribe, and none of us had any idea who that human character was. Many people on this shard attack a red name on sight, and that's what he appeared to do. After Kurse was down, the player in question approached us and said "loot's yours, orcs". It was my impression that this was a tribute gesture.

Allow me to make this very clear: we have never, and will never, call in human reinforcements. Not only would that violate Shadowclan policy, it would quite honestly make me feel dirty if I was to do it. There are often humans present at the fort and we have no control over whether they choose to fight one another instead of or in addition to us.

Pirul, so far the general stance is much the same as you describe with Bloodrock. However, one major difference is that we do not allow humans to linger in the fort. We've had some players and guilds who have gated in a tasty box of sweet tribute and remained a respectful distance from the fort. In those instances, a temporary cordiality exists. As for hiring a brute squad of orc mercenaries, I'll admit that sounds like it would be a lot of fun. As for whether the Shadowclan would ever extend the hand of friendship that far towards a human without a knife in it, that's for Velgamog to decide.

We arent PKing or being PK'd, this is all about PvP... there is an important difference...

There is no difference, otherwise why would you be asking to change the environment?

I think most people are more interested about the no count war zone than pampering a role player guild. The Forums has spoken we want a Free for All arena!

Are you attacking and killing blue players? If so, then you are PKing and subject to the same mechanics as everyone else.

You aren't special little cupcakes.

Elyron Valanthir wrote:So basically by your own admission this "clan" of orcs has accepted the help of others to defend the "orcs' fort", by that I would have to say that it was human intervention, a blatant slap in the face to any self-respecting Shadowclan orc. To "need' the help of humans in defending orc territory is a sure sign of weakness and would not be tolerated in any form regardless of whether or not this was WOW or DAOC and most certainly not on Catskills.

You also admit that you "encourage" your players not to give counts, but reserve the right to in case of griefers. Well it would appear that your clan has no chain of command, something that Shadowclan holds as one of their most important tenants along with rank structure and tribe history. To allow anyone, Peon, Gruntee or grunt to do as they please regardless of what the tribe leadership dictates.....unheard of.

Orcs do as they're told by those above them.......... or else. It is the lifeblood of orc society and the means by which order is maintained within the ranks, without it a tribe is simply a band of rag-tag orcs, which is what your bunch is starting to look like by your admissions in your last post.

Better off naming your tribe Bloodrock Lite 2.0, because Shadowclan you are not. Then again maybe you'll get your act together and get a real Shadowclan tribe to show up at the fort.
I guess you didn't really play with the kibbies on Mordred and Guin because both servers would host temporary alliances with non kibbies to help accomplish similar goals. I have showed up at the orc fort on my red quite a bit and usually when I am busy fighting orcs and some blue knuckleheads show up I temporarily team up with the orcs to kill the blues as they are interrupting my quality time with Shaddurklan. Also when you end up with a few mounted mages the fights against them become trivial against SC due to their numerous disadvantages. It simply ain't fun. I have seen other reds do the same thing. So we kill interlopers and not once was it ever asked of us, we did it on our own accord.

As for the counting thing, that sounds like it was a mixup with a new uninitiated orc. Also your short stint on SC OSI doesn't qualify you as a Shadowclan master. You are coming off more butt hurt about some events that possibly happened then anything.

We need a count free warzone asap, I don't wanna lose any of my illiterate orkoid axe swingin' friends that are fun to play with.

Im just bothered that players who don't even care about this fort are preventing something remarkable from happening here. You may not enjoy the thrill of PvP and a new fort-takeover battle objective, but clearly others do. We ask that this be done not just for ourselves, but for the enjoyment of the server as a whole.

If it's just one area/zone were people can be grey and role play or whatever, why not have it?

What's the big deal? Just don't go to that part of the world if it's not your cup of tea.

I vote for it, it gives new players (and possibly older ones) something else to do.

I'd like to see a count free warzone go here. I enjoy fighting the orcs and it would be a shame to see them use statloss as an excuse for when they finally surrender to me.

I care about the shard, and the rules everyone follows.
