First off, I know I'm new, so it's not my place to try and bring rapid change - which is not my intent.
Secondly, I'm not a pk, nor do I even like to play a pk, nor would I play a pk, because my connection sucks donkeys, (and because of the stat loss).
With that being said, what is the final word on stat loss for reds on second age? Is it open for debate, as I recall seeing a thread when I first joined a couple weeks ago where Derrick said it was about to be altered.
In my honest, humble, worthless, opinion, I think red stat loss should be minimal, and that's if there should be any stat loss at all. I don't want to scare off new players or farmers, because I myself, like to do it all in UO.
I'm just curious though, how many players who love to pk are quitting after their reds have to endure a death and then a large amount of stat loss?
Is the red (ie. Murderer, PK) stat loss issue up for debate?

I can't think of a single pk that has quit because of statloss, and trust me some of them have had it pretty freakin bad.George_Costanza wrote:First off, I know I'm new, so it's not my place to try and bring rapid change - which is not my intent.

I love stat loss, really adds more risk and respect to the PK side of the game.

It definitely gives a whole new degree of respect to the player sitting behind that keyboard, because they are risking a lot of time.
Because of bad connection issues, I simply wouldn't do it, I on average lose my connection a good 10 to 20 times a day. And I have also felt guilty after jumping in on some fights in the Brit GY against a red only to see him go down, but, I guess, thats the name of the game.
I just want to see the shard stay healthy as it is and hopefully continue to grow.

I encourage every single blue to jump in against any red you may happen against, even if he is already fighting someone else... this surely was always the case in era, it was a much stronger blue vs red scene back then.

Here is a small portion from the front page of our web site. This is the goal that the shard follows strictly. UO Second Age is meant to replicate the game mechanics of the t2a era down to the most minute item. Stat loss was a part of the t2a era. We use the same exact system that was in place during this particular time period.- Simply The Way It Was -
Since inception, the goal, vision and rationale of even creating this shard has been very simple but unique:
- We aim to replicate the T2A era as best we can and within technical limitations as a whole.
- We do not intend to ever change any aspect of normal gameplay to particularly favor any playstyle or to protect or further expose any players to to the in-game risk that was a large part of this era.
- We will especially not pull aspects of other eras into this one, even with an overwhelming demand of players.

aye, I encourage this as well.I encourage every single blue to jump in against any red you may happen against, even if he is already fighting someone else... this surely was always the case in era, it was a much stronger blue vs red scene back then.
fighting near town inspires, this, i think we had about 10 blues on us last night, it was pretty chaotic and reminded me of the true t2a era.

Yah, it was pretty awesome way back then. I remember having to take a deep breath and stretch the kinks out of my neck anytime I was about to step beyond the "safety of the town guards."
I definitely make sure I'm paying attention at all times now, so, its getting there.
I don't remember what shard it was, but I remember a gang of pks: Susie Redrum, Connection Lost, Bud Light, those are the only 3 I can really remember. Good times.

Stat loss isn't bad at all...
If you die, you die...get over it and start working the counts off.
It's a choice all Reds must make prior to becoming red.
