Show Some Courtesy

Post by Budner »

We all see house sales where the requested starting bid is way too high, or the location sucks, or there's too much spawn, or bad neighbors, or whatever.

Although we all understand information is valuable, this is just an appeal to not be a dick and feel like you have to point out deficiencies in a property. We are all capable of checking out a location before making an educated bid.

Why some people feel the need to crap on a property, I don't know.

Thanks.

Theres alot of bad manners on the trading threads....
Im burned out on all the drama that comes from being open on forums...
some people seem to defecate themselves in a mad rush to blather out some character defemating tripe
or totally question your choice of pricing... which is none of their affair to begin with...

There is no shame in exposing omission's in a trade thread, just do it with some class and don't be a dick about it.

May ignorant buyers be assisted by the knowledge base of the community I say!

This is valid, but IMO it's more important to let the buyer beware (most buyers here are experienced) and not crap on someone's property in the forum.

Although it might be the case that most are experienced, there are still many, many inexperienced buyers who come to buy their first large home, because they can't find a spot to place it themselves, and end up overpaying for a turd.

If I see a new player bidding on a turd, I will feel the moral obligation to expose my pont of view. If an experienced player is bidding, then it's all on him. Same goes for any item, not just property.

Hey that's your right. But beauty is in the eye of the (turd) beholder. I've bought plenty of properties that nobody else wanted. I'm dumb that way.

I often take the liberty of sending a PM to both buyer and/or seller when I feel my input might be useful.

House priced too low? I will PM to tell them it will sell in a second and they should consider raising the price (no I won't bid, buy and resell. I would rather help someone else).

New player making an uneducated, overpriced bid? I might PM to tell them the pros/cons and guestimated value of the property.

Butting in on the forum to poop on someone else's sale is rude and should be punishable by warnings and/or bans if you ask me.
