Canada's First Tournament: 1 vs 1

Post by Hemperor »

This will be a one on one tournament.
5k entry fee, winner takes all and I will throw in a little extra towards this purse as well.

What is not allowed:
  • magic weapons
  • magic items
  • all potions other than refresh
  • poisoned weapons
  • looting
  • pre-buffing (bless, reflection etc. before a fight begins)
  • any summon spells
  • stealing
  • paralyzing
Doing any one of these things will result in disqualification.

Each fight will begin with a wall of stone thrown up, once it has vanished the fight will begin.

Each fight will last 7 minutes, at which point any heals that are targeted (or begun, for dexxers) will result in disqualification. There will be a 30 second warning prior to this.

Finals match will be a best 2 out of 3.

At this point, every single player is welcome to participate. However, since I have built this little home made arena on the top of my tower (rather than waste millions) I have the ability to ban anyone I would like for life. Enemies of mine or my guildies are welcome to participate, but anyone that feels the need to ruin the fun for others (you know what I am talking about) will be removed. I will have a number of friended people around taking care of things.

If you die, you will be resurrected and given a moment to loot your things. You are welcome to watch the rest of the fights.

I would also ask that if you choose to participate or spectate, that your character be public on MyUOSA. I'd rather not have any thieves lingering during this one, however in the near future there is a good chance for an "anything goes" tournament.

This tournament takes place Thursday evening at 10 pm (EST), hopefully we can get a good turn out.

With your current time, imo you might miss out on more participation from the west coast.
5pm is a tad early for people that work.

Might I suggest bumping the time back an hour or two?

I will go with what works for the majority, I picked 8pm because it was most convenient for me...however I will take a look at shard pk times etc.

Thanks to everyone that showed up.

Was quite a bit of fun, however I realise that the organisation wasn't top notch and that the arena felt a little cramped. I am working on redesigning it, but for the most part it went off pretty well. Only got a couple screenshots, didn't really capture the action too great but oh well:

It ended up being Fwerp and Grim in the finals. Grim beat him in the first round, Fwerp tied it up in the second and then ultimately Grim finished him off in the 3rd. It was a really close match and a great tournament over all.

Grim took home 60k with him, congratulations!
