Been trying to figure out how to supplement my bard, either with fencing or archery.
I really wanted to do archery, but I'm having a difficult time finding arrows in bulk to practice with.
Thoughts?

Archery is worth it if your prepared to spend some money both to gm it and then keep yourself in bows and arrows. If you just building a money making provo though, I'd just go with fencing because there's just no sense spending money to make money when all things are equal.

FYI - Archery tank mages aren't that great..

I have an event character that has the following skills
healing
anatomy
resist
swords
archery
tactics
hiding (was macing, i find this more useful)
if i'm on a team with 3-4 archers, i always yell for us to stick together b/c 4 archers defending a base is deadly and usually the enemy will have to retreat and heal up. obviously the best thing about archery is that you dont have to be close to deal damage to an opponent
i was thinking of putting magery on as the 7th skill, but thats just gonna be a pain to try and put on there seeing as i dont have med. all the spells i'd need are bless, protection, RA, magic reflect and maybe magic arrow to drop somebody's reflect to help out other people. i can use scrolls in for those spells.

from every test i have ever done, archery just can not compare in anyway to melee combat skills.
Archery is only ever a good supplement for someone who is pure dexx and wants a long range hit for runners & maybe an event archer.
ALTHOUGH LET ME SAY. I have never even cared when im flagged by an archer at a event lol. It like "Oh hes a archer and has me targetted.. um fuck it whatever lol"

that's why its kinda good in my opinion. i do not have to chase the opponent around with a sword. i can stand stationary and do some good base defending. 1 archer by himself is a waste, but i'll generally get 5 or so kills a match. mainly i'll end up annoying the hell outta some mages by making them drop their gheal sooner than they want.Taboo wrote:I have never even cared when im flagged by an archer at a event lol.
