Sandlot style PVP club
This is an exploratory thread to gauge the amount of interest there may be in a new idea for promoting UOSA pvp.
This idea should appeal to veterans and newbies alike. All skill levels will be welcome to participate.
Each time the club meets the activities will follow along these lines:
• all members will rendezvous at the clubhouse.
• team captains will be assigned by me or my representative if I'm not present.
• number of members on each team will be determined by me or my representative depending on how many participants are present.
• captains will pick teams, order determined by a roll of dice.
• A random interesting place of combat will be determined by me or my representative each session.
• The teams will go their separate ways, and be given 15 minutes to determine strategy before the battle begins.
• The teams will meet at the appropriate location at the appropriate time and fight it out until one team has lost all of its members.
Rules will be as follows:
• no voice chat.
• no looting.
• team members may rez fellow teammates if the opposing team allows them the opportunity.
• allowed equipment: GM gear, ALL potions, poisoned weapons.
• all spells are allowed.
This is just a basic outline of how we will run this. Teams will be changing at each session so this is a great opportunity for you newer players to get involved in player versus player combat. Please sign up in this thread if you were interested, thank you.
The SPC (Sandlot PVP Clubhouse) is now open! Find it on the bloody plains in between the Covetous Mountains and Compassion Desert. The doors are wide open for anyone seeking pvp! IRC me for duels, field fights, anything.

i love this idea. mixing every tier of pvper together and forming teams via junior high kickball pick em style makes it that much better. count me in!
Re: Sandlot style PVP club
i like the idea, but enforcing some of that will be hard
Re: Sandlot style PVP club
Ya... It'll be on an honor system, with rule breakers labelled dipshits for deciding to cheat at for-fun setups. They also won't be invited back... If it goes well, and we have fun, it'll continue. If not, no biggie. Try to be more positive ole Vin!vintirex wrote:i like the idea, but enforcing some of that will be hard

i don't think the rules will be hard to enforce, it's really no different than setting up random 2v2's like when we got a buncha people doing duels. except with pots and mounts and different numbers.Abyz wrote:Ya... I'm down for some of this hot fire!
Re: Sandlot style PVP club
This is a great idea!
I couldn't always make it but would love to know when it is happening so I could make the time.
Not sure if there is a way to "rank" people for more balanced teams.
newbie/amateur/pro ?
Of course the ranking discussion should probably be in trash talk instead of here.

Love it, i suck at pvp without the element of surprise. I would be very interested in this.
Re: Sandlot style PVP club
One of the best aspects of this setup is that it's a great way to get new folks into pvp. Each round should be educational for players of all skill levels.
