purple llamas arnt era accurate it was a bug braught in with them being weakened during the ren.

It's a UO easter egg:

"On rare occasions, casting the spell energy vortex will summon a purple llama instead of the purple cloud-like creature the spell is meant to summon. The purple llama is labeled in-game as "an energy vortex" and has the same powers as the creature the spell is named for. Unlike normal Energy Vortexes the llama's had a paper doll that could be opened by double clicking it. The creature's title was "Mystical Llama Herder.""

it definitely happens way too often here, I have seen them happen twice in a row at least 10 different times now.

what about casting a blade spirit? did that have the possibility of turning into the llama too? or was it a purple human?

Just energy vortexes, but if you take a blade spirits bar and double click it you get a paperdoll.....

Blade Spirits didn't turn into llamas, but if you doubled clicked them out of combat you could open up their paperdoll which would read "a blade spirit the mystic llama herder".

These special llamas carry interesting loot. However, they can only be killed by casting Earthquake on them three times. If you manage to kill one, you will get one of the following items: a mongbat map, an ettin's cap or a vortex of love. I have, in other posts, already spoken of the first two, so let me say a little about vortexes of love.

A vortex of love looks like an apple. It even says 'apple' when you click it. However, if you eat it, you get a system message that reads "You have fallen into the vortex of love." At that point, you will turn purple and look just like the llama you have slain. You now have 48 hours to kill another player who has summoned you. (The llama you have slain was in fact a player.) If you manage to kill the player who summons you, you get everything in his bank box and are given the title "the mystical llama of death." If you are slain by the player or are not summoned within the forty-eight hours, you are transported to a special room in the Lost Lands full of llamas. This room is known as "the Llama Sanctuary." In order to leave this room, you must kill, cook and eat every llama in the room. But these are not ordinary llamas. They each have 342 strength, cast blade spirits and can poison you with deadly (level 4) poison. You have ten minutes to get out of the Llama Sanctuary or your character will be deleted. If you do escape, you get a special pitchfork named "I escaped from the Llama Sanctuary and all I got was this lousy pitchfork."

And the probability of that happening isn't THAT rare.. a trial probability of 1/100 chance, with two trials...
1/100 x 1/100 = 1/10,000

1 in 10000 chance for a llama to happen twice in a row.. considering how many EV's are casted total, someone is bound for that to happen.

Where are you getting these numbers from? It certainly feels like it happens much more often than 1/100
