Question about population
Question about population
so iv checked some hotspots and towns for a few mins and it pretty much seems like uosa turned into a ghost town.
not rlly sure if its worth to restart here this week or if its pointless.
so my question is. how active is the player base? says 150pp+- online but like i said the only non npcs iv seen were vega and some 50/50 tamer escorting some boars.
thanks!

Re: Question about population
It is true that sever population isn't what it used to be. But over the last few weeks some people have returned and others are new. The server count has gone up about 20- 30 people per night recently.
So, come back and hang around for a while and judge for yourself. Gold is easy to come by and so are small houses for a restart.
The PKers have dropped a bit but they are still around if you know where to look or just go to Deceit and wait they will be by shortly

You need a permit to return to UOSA.

He doesn't need a house. He is selling his tower in front of hythloth still. Be sure to PM him.
Re: Question about population
As someone new to the server I will say I've only played servers with populations that were sub 150 people. UOSA's population right now is great to me. I play in the evening after work (eastern time) and I see one or two people at most major towns I visit. I've seen people multiple times in Jhelom, Skara, Britain (always), Trinsic, Yew, Minoc, Vesper. There's a lot of activity from my perspective. I'm not sure how it was before but honesty I wish fewer people refreshed houses so there'd be decay and more spots would open up. Many people are eager to help give newcomers and returning vets a hand getting a strong start though.

Re: Question about population
absolutely, I highly recommend new players to log into IRC Chat and ask, if they have questions/new supplies etc etcSkorp wrote:As someone new to the server I will say I've only played servers with populations that were sub 150 people. As for housing, as much as im a hoarder as well I do agree. I wish there was a bit tighter limits. Oh well, we are to blame for great "buyers housing market". Many houses are going for just over deed, which is pretty insane as ive been told about 6-8months ago market was almost 4x deed

Re: Question about population
People who enjoy group pvp would like to see more than 5-6 people in their Sosarian travels. I too played a low population server before coming here... But, it's really no fun compared to a densely populated world. Housing rules here are a joke, so somehow the map remains full while you only actually see a handful of folks. *shrugs*

Re: Question about population
seems like something should be done here. noticed we have some good motivated new staff members here. is there anything in progress? like events or new housing rules? would be a shame if uosa is about to die.

Re: Question about population
Not at all. Server is allready dead in my eyes. Thats a fact. Just wanna figure out why. Whats wrong with that? Asking ppl how this happend and trying to discuss this. I love this shard and it broke my evil german heart to realize that 90% lost there interest in playing here.
Re: Question about population
People move on man, old players will almost always leave eventually. It's getting new players and retaining them so that they become shard veterans that is slow. Most new players lately complained it was too cut-throat here, so they moved on shortly after starting. In our defense, this was a cut-throat era and I wouldn't want it any other way; if you can't handle it at first, then you will probably never find a happy home here. The shard has been called by many "about to die" for the last 8 months, but it's still here and a lot of fun to play. I also would like to see it grow, but we do have a stable base population, and that is not about to die.
I'd recommend recruiting some of your old friends who no longer play, and make a comeback. Also you could advertise UOSA somewhere, or help by voting.
