Since Buc's is a ghost town, let's makeTrinsic guardless.

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

I think I recall this happening on Chesapeake as well.

Exactly, the reds can hang out at bucs, that's what it's there for. Also there is a red mage at the broken chair rare spawn location that acts just like a mage shop.

I use Trinsic to. Another thing to consider if making Trinsic guardless for longer period of times is the real estate nearby. People might have picked nice vendor locations and safe houses because of the proximity to Trinsic. Making Trinsic guardless and having it suffer from a horde or undead beings in and around it would be ok for a week, it's an event, fine. But to make it permanent, or reoccurring, might cripple the relatively calm area that Trinsic in fact is. Sure, some might say that this sort of activity in and around Trinsic will only bring business, but then again, many Blue players might be to afraid to visit.

As an event, fine, it's fun for a week, but it's a regular town and a regular town it shall remain.

I personally enjoy town fighting (with spells), and I don't think I'm alone. I also seem to remember this being the case at times on Great Lakes, so I'm not sure it was an Atlantic only phenomenon.

Weigh in!

As I remember it, this was the last event before trammel was input. This event basically created trammel and moonstones. Moonstones, I think they were called, were the only way to travel back and forth between trammel and felucca at first. It was some corrupt lich king who lead the invasion. It was a ton of fun but I am not sure what the time frame of this event was, I just remember that it was basically the event that created trammel. It was some seer in a green robe that actually lead the event.

I still think guards were active though as I never saw any red during this time in Trinsic. they may have been deactivated for monsters, but I believe town looting of blues and reds entering town still could be called upon.

cletus wrote: Also, Buccs basically sucks ass as far as PvP spots go. The bank is a complete dead end and EVERYONE hates those goddamn teleporter+recall newbies (red and blue). Trinsic is a more natural place for a pvp hotspot. For instance, on Atlantic in my experience most of the Order Vs Chaos large scale fighting took place in Trinsic because Britain was too laggy and the other towns pretty much blow (LLTS Order and friends vs all the big Chaos guilds was amazing)
I also played Atlantic and TSG [The Syndicate Guard [LLTS War Guild]], did fight from Trinsic; however, the fights were only there because people were there. Ocllo was one of the big guild war places also due to the players that used the bank and lived there. What it comes down to is that the fights will be in places that pvpers hang. If a guild owned houses in bucs den and used it like they did back in the day, Bucs would be a hot spot.

*Yew Bank use to be a hot spot behind the abbey bc reds could bank and also bc pvpers owned the homes around the back side of it.

*Ocllo Bank area bc pvpers own the home and a guild right next to the Bank

*Chaos Shrine pvp was big bc reds would only have that place or a player ressing them to come back to life + pvpers lived there.

... You want action to shift to a different location, or any location at all, provide a reason for people to show up and stay there. Britain Moongate gets people that go by and look for duels because of the Tower I have established. Anyone can do the same with any area if they occupy a spot and keep people around frequently that are willing to fight and not just run and recall.

already been done here..
while on OSI the undead invasion was a MASSIVE pvp fest.. here it was simply an extension of Graveyard newbies farming undead monsters..

Alright, here is what I remember clearly on the pacific shard. At random times once in a while, there would be an undead attack on trinsic and guards would be suspended. Funny enough, the city was populated somewhat on that shard. I never saw more carnage then the time it was announced by the town crier in Britain and I showed up. I remember counting 15 player bodies just at the front gate. Additionally, there were also Brigand raids on Buccs Den at the Docks (more frequently). People showed up en masse for these events, because they were, and would be (hint) awesome.

If you ask me, it is just a matter of advertising. Make some events there and buccs will take off. No one goes there because, well, why? You know no one is there to fight because there was nothing going on there to begin with. There is no draw to any type of player currently. It took off as a PvP area because blues came in to fight the brigands when the event happened. Reds came in to kill the blues for funzies. Blues came back once they had had a taste of combat, and the cycle continued and PVP proliferated rapidly. It was VERY fun. Thieves also frequented the place(including myself) to capitalize on loot and distracted fighting players, and thus the city filled its niche as the lawless scum bucket town where anything goes. Then Trammel came along and ruined everything.

All I have to say on the matter:

You choose to limit yourself to Buc's Den when you choose to go red.
"PVP Hotspots" are where you make them, and if you can't find a way to finish fights in Buc's, then it just sounds like you're shit out of luck.

I would like to see the Buc's Tele removed, though.

bucs was a unlawful town for a reason [ a pirate town ]

spreading out red towns is a horrible idea never do this please [apart from events]

bucs was always a purposely restricted town this was to make life harder for reds.
