Input malfunction problem...

Post by Roser »

Hi there.

So once in a while my razor hot keys totally bug out and start sending the wrong input commands. Usually the input shows up as a hash tag in my uo window typing area. So basically instead of my hot keys working I'm just pressing "#########" for about 75% of my hot keys. Some still work normally.

To fix the problem I need to fully restart my client. This is a major drag when I'm in the middle of pvp, I become a running pylon that cant do anything.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Could be Razor, UO client, or keyboard software issues.

I have never encountered this issue before. I don't play around with my keyboard software either.

I had multiple versions of razor on my computer. I deleted them all and reinstalled the version on the UOSA website.

Everything seems ok now.

Nevermind, this error is still happening. I don't think its related to razor as this error happens with the client alone.

It is probably a bug with my client. I'm going to try a fresh client install later today.

You sure this isn't a driver issue with your keyboard/gamepad or anything?

Positive, I just bought all new peripherals, and this happens on multiple machines. It must be my client (7.0.7.1). Ill be tinkering with things today, will post results.

This has always happened to me. From what I can recall, it's been a consistent razor bug since I first started using razor in around 2003 on UO Hybrid. Usually happens after consistently having at least 1 copy of razor open for days or weeks at a time. Needs all clients to be restarted before it's fixed.

Tested this in game now and confirmed that this is my problem.... This sort of sucks because Ctrl + Shift is very useful in game.

I assume it can be disabled in windows somehow.

My Razor hotkeys would also freeze in combat and get me killed, restarting the client was the only thing to restore hotkeys. I resorted to playing without object delay which fixed the problem, but the macros were complicated and a pain. I see you already fixed your problem Rose, but for others, the ultimate fix to my problem was to run Razor, UO, and client.exe as administrator in XP compatibility mode service pack 3.

I had it switching between english and german keyboard sometimes and always wondered why! Now I know. Thanks for the discussion and resolution! I've disabled mine.
