Does invisibility gear upset you?
If so, feel free to cry about it here. I will personally read your response and then not care about it at all.

"Help me Elk!" said Vinitrex quivering with fear.
"No problem" quipped Elk as he showed Vinitrex how to properly dispatch a grand wizard.

I've found that people who use invis a lot are generally good at staying alive but are not very threatening when it comes to offense. It fucks up your item delay which should be more focused on the hally and purple pots.

As per usual, I was there only to provide Vintirex with moral support.

If you are running with a partner, invis makes the standard explode ebolt combo beastly. Drop explodes then invis cast/drop ebolt's. Most people wont even notice the EB spell words come up.
Invis also makes Gheals nearly impossible to interrupt. Obviously only use it when required, otherwise Rammar is right, save your action delays for offense.

I'm with Rose on this one, Regency. Invis in a group or even 2v2 is fantastic. I'll invis as soon as I see explosions drop. Gives time for heals to load or for me to fuss with a gheal wand or something, and most times they'll just canecel the ebolts and load something new.
1v1 it's pretty useless unless you suck...then it may prolong the inevitable or help you puss out and recall.

Save yourself the shame and embarrassment and just assume that if you can't understand me...you're the one who's retarded.

Anyone using an invis item in a 1v1 is a laughingstock.

I definitely agree invis is far more effective in groups and also less shameful to use in that setting (especially if you are getting ganked). All of the points you mention are defensive benefits. During an offensive sync in a 2v2, I would rather use my action delay on a purple pot + eb vs. invis item + eb. Kind of depends on the situation, though.Malaikat wrote:I'm with Rose on this one, Regency. Invis in a group or even 2v2 is fantastic. I'll invis as soon as I see explosions drop. I generally avoid fighting people 1v1 who invis item every spell. It's so easy to stay alive 1v1 with just using pots that I find using too many items (reflect, invis, gheal staves, etc) cripples the enjoyment of a 1v1 fight. It's also hard for me to respect someone who casts invis before every spell 1v1. The fight is just going to end with "out of regs" or "out of purples or reds" and then both parties recalling. That sucks. Yes, I'm guilty of using reflect 1v1, but usually it's when someone has a charged weapon and therefore the reflect item is an effective counter.
I don't remember guys like Spanky, Fede, Sandro, and other elite fighters ever doing it with the same regularity I've been seeing recently with some folks. Reason? Because these guys stay on offense like 90% of the time in a fight and you don't gain a lot by using invis offensively 1v1.
These comments are generally more pointed towards using a mage. I feel like dexers get the pass because in general they can't compete without lots of gear.
Re: Does invisibility gear upset you?
Agreed. There are rare circumstances where I'll use an invis offensively 1v1 against a dexer. For the most part it's defensive and in group or gank situations. If I'm gonna waste an item tick on a charge during an offensive sync, I'd much rather combo tele with ebolt to catch someone trying to screen. If anyone is familiar with my deathshot thread, there are more than a handful where you can see the prompt from my tele macro...

Re: Does invisibility gear upset you?
Invis definitely has more defensive than offensive capabilities in a 1v1, but to put it anywhere near the level of "holding Gheal" I think is a mistake.
A quick invis Gheal can be very clutch when your opponent is holding harm on you and you need that heal, alternately you can mini heal+heal pot, but why not have both options? invis is probably cheaper than heal pots anyway.
The same can be said for offensive spells, especially in the case of mage vs dexxer. Load up spells on an invis item all day, the only interrupt from a dexxer or mage will be purple pots.
We have structured duels for a reason - to compete in an equal environment. Out on the field people are gonna use whatever they can to survive and win. So those who want to be "titty babies" and moan about invis items while using vanq+ halberds and reflect gear can cry me a mofuggin river.

A rare thread that started out belonging in TT and ended up being genuine discourse.

Agreed Mal, invis can be used effectively in 1v1s versus dexxers, specifically ones who have burnt half of your mana without you inflicting too much damage their way.
