Chat Feature

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

Chat Feature

This is all i could find on the subject in past posts. I remember it being in throughout the T2a era and think it should be implemented. At one time i ran a casino on OSI shards and would use the chat room feature to eliminate text clutter in the confines of the Lshape that housed the operation. I think it would be good for new players/guilds to get together using nothing but the UO User Interface. It was a tab on your paper doll that said chat, anyone else remember this feature? Anyone else in favor of it? Anyone know of any reasons it should not be implemented? Derrick did say it was Flaky..does that mean unusable or causes instability? I remeber some people were unaware of it at the time and when told of it they felt it was clunky to use but after a bit of explaining and aquaintence they seemed to like it well enough. The thing i like about it was, the ability to resize the window and shape it fo fit on your screen in between icons and radar maps.

It is enabled in clients 5.0 or lower. Hit Alt + T - it will bring it up.

I remember it but no one I played with used it. We used ICQ and RodgerWilco.

We did set up a few Com Crystals for fun but they weren't practical because you needed to recharge them or something.

Personally, I think that guild and party chat work much better as part of the client.

Aye, the in game chat does work.
Also, clients version 6.x are not recommended on UOSA becuase of map changes. Especially tera keep and wind.

Awsome..Ill have to check it out once my client is updated. Any idea why there isnt a chat tab on the paper doll? I know there was one.

The Chat button was moved to the menu bar at some point, likely when the Guild botton was added
