How to GM TAMING from 84.9

Post by Vlastslav »

84.9 is what your skill needs to be at to do this. It is extremely fast gains, and much faster than doing hell hounds is hyloth. You could do this at 82.9 but youll only be able to tame lava lizards and hell cats.

How to set this up.

- 4 accounts (yes borrow a friends or have a friend help set up a macro since your only allowed 3 of your own)
1 gm anat/gm healing (macro on loop - use aids, absolute target, pause 5 sec, loop)
1 tamer (macro on loop - Use skill animal taming, target random grey, pause 1 sec, loop)
1 hidden character
1 puller (pref. a dexxer)

Mark a rune in the back corner and open a gate. Put your hidden character in the single tile spot to block mobs from coming in the back.
Walk your tamer 2 tiles SE as shown in the picture, and walk your healer 1 tile SE. What this does is keep all the aggro on your tamer, and not the healer.
Take your puller and walk around the entire dungeon pulling hellhounds, hell cats, large hell cats, and lava lizards. You’ll pull giant serpents and such but its okay cause you need them to kill your tamed animals quickly so they wont kill your untamed animals. Youll basically have a wall of like 20 mobs shooting fire at your tamer with you healing every 5 seconds.

Again this is as fast as taming can go and how I gmed mine in just a few days. Post if you have any questions.

In order to keep Vlatslav from further wrecking the economy of this shard, I propose we kill anyone caught macroing there.

Alternatively cover yourself in honey to attract bears and then tame them.

Spent a fair amount of time taming there, it is a nice spot steady spawns. Gains did get slow for me 95+ so I preffered to wander lost lands taming great harts, giant toads, giant spiders ect.. if there were creatures to tame wandering seemed faster to me, less boring anyways. Found several mares this way to :)

That spot is a horrible spot for macroing there. First, it's right next to the entrance where most PK's mark their runes. This allows a PK or anyone for that matter to screw with you getting you killed. This spot is right next to the efreets where people commonly farm. The open area that blocks the mobs from getting you is spread to wide and far. This means that you will have several tames walking out of line of sight.

There are much better spots in that dungeon for macroing taming. Using a dexer isn't preferable for dragging. A bard is to seperate the trash from the non-trash.

if you have your healer directly in the corner you can do it anywhere, your tamer will just take melle hits, which shouldnt matter as your healer is on the case

I had an elite setup for macroing taming. My character would keep the tamer alive, and if he happened to die he would auto ressurrect. The mobs couldn't touch the healer even after the tamer died. I simply macroed all night long with no problems. The macro was so intense that Alatar came on Deacon and tried ruining the setup and finally gave up, because by the time he would get enough mana to kill the other character the tamer would be ressed/healed and ready to go.

Could just go ahead and say, that you can do this anywhere. It's particularly easy on a boat in the desert with preditor hellcats and frenzied ostards.

If you weren't in a house, I don't know why Alatar could have problems, it doesn't take a genius to kill AFK players.

As for this setup provided by Vlast, it's nothing new, it's just in a new location. Good mini-guide though.
