The macro is a great idea. it slows down tendinitis and countless open click aim repetitions that just frustrate everybody. Of course using them in battle is unfair I think, yet using them to practice skills when you really don't have time to and want to proceed to the real fun...well who would dare want to take away the candy from them babies?
Once you get to macroing all your characters...after a while there isn't too many things left to do, other than find the daily pvp etc... gets repetitive. Building/adventuring your character from the start is something I miss and is what UO was to me.

I remember when i was first directed to download UOAutopilot by one of my guild mates. It made UO a different game for me. Before that I remember shooting ettins for archery gains and just running around using magery on everything in sight. Now suddenly, I could gain magery while i slept, and devote the rest of my time to collecting shiny suits of plate armor and bags of regs from other players.

But back then, macroing wasnt as easy at it is now. And it wasnt something you did all day. You macroed at night and actually played your char during the day. I was gonna go try to kill some idiots with my 75 magery.

UOAP was a decent program, but utter dogshit compared to what Razor can do. Half the time i'd just give up because coding the stupid macros was just too much work, and I'd opt for something simpler and less complicated to write. Macroing magery with no meditation? Holy crap that sucked. It wasnt until UOALoop and 8x8 that i really remember full on macroing a char from start to finish with no playtime until he was done.

I guess I wish we were all still idiots and it was still 1998. We know too much about this game for our own good.

i had multi accounts during this era on osi and about 50% of people where 5gm +

i dont beleive that macroing is always wrong some people myself included would like to pvp when they can play thus i need to macro. scripts are wrong and anyone found using scripts or macros to farm should be banned.

I actually have a "secret character" who I play UO on. I don't macro UO on him, I actually play the game. He's gotten to 4x and 91 healing from just playing the game.

I gotta say, it's a lot of fun, but all these newbie 'leet guys' who refuse to touch their character till they are 7x, really can't handle playing UO. You know who you are.

This is how I started playing on this shard-- I even went so far as to give him an RP name. Its tough out there with 75str, 40 dex and bone armor.

Well skill gain is many times faster here than it is on OSI for one thing that really makes it easy to just play without macroing.

I think it's funny people compare working skills on UO to WOW it is nothing alike, on UO you're always fearing losing your loot, getting PKED ect, it is actually fun, I remember when I first started I went to a grave yard me and 2 other newbies I didn't know was there, and I told one of then newbs to walk away with me and I told him that me and him where going to pk the other guy, So I fireballed him to death and we killed him and I was like Holy Shit this is awesome.

Anyways "The way it used to be", well according to Finesse.

I remember the first guild I ever joined on Oceania (a Jedi-based Guild) and they told me when I hit 70% in my main skill I would progress....70% seemed like it would NEVER happen! They were fun days! I admit, I macro like everyone else here because it is a necessety to survive...but that's only because that is how the game is played nowadays...doesn't mean I like or agree with it.

I tried to build up skills but when you are in an environment with 80%+ people 7 x GM it makes it tough. However, a Non-Macro guild sounds AMAZING! Guild for adventurers, dungeon crawlers, having those 60% mages running around despise with a few warriors...

If someone makes a Non-macro guild, PLEASE LET ME KNOW :D

We already have.

Other than the guildstone, nothing will be purchase or transferred from other characters...that would really ruin the point :)

Sounds like fun... I'm sure I can make a char for this...

If this gets some momentum going... it could be the next urks sort of guild... (in size I mean)

We surely don't plan to pvp at all, everyone is 7x here...at least not for the time being. :)
