Gnarled Staff Damage Inaccurate?
Gnarled Staff Damage Inaccurate?
After doing all my research, I was expecting to be able to hold a G Heal or Lightning Gnarled staff and do at least 10-30 without any modifiers to oncoming combatants. This was one of my primary tactics, however, now it looks like they are doing around 1-5 damage and have a huge problem connecting. Why is there such a dramatic difference between the arms study listed on the site and damage actually dealt? Gnarled staffs, while not the best weapon, aren't so far off a Q staff... I don't understand.

Re: Gnarled Staff Damage Inaccurate?
Magic gnarled staffs (the charge kind, not vanq ect..) do about the same damage as a wand with the same properties. I pointed this out in another thread only to be met with "No way, gnarled staffs hit harder than a qstaff!".
Re: Gnarled Staff Damage Inaccurate?
gnarled staffs didnt hit that low on osi but were painfully slow thus why no one used them [obviously originaly intended as a mage weapon as were wands [with charges]

Then where is the information on this?

I dont know, hence the reason I used the word "do", as I'm sure you already found out by playing on this shard.Taboo wrote:MatronDeWinter wrote:Magic gnarled staffs (the charge kind, not vanq ect..) do about the same damage as a wand with the same properties

This was indeed the case and will be fixed on the next patch. Thanks guys
When we switched over from random damage on weapons to dice rolls the magic gnarled staffs were missed in the conversion and ended up inheriting the dice roll damage of a wand. I think it's likely been like this for 6 months.
