BagBall Tournament?

Post by Maahes »

Would there be interest in participating in a Bagball tournament if there was one.

If you don't know what Bagball is, it's basically like soccer, but with a UO style. Players have to drag a heavy bag into the opponents goal to score points. There is no stealing, fighting or any training required so it would be playable by all players, new and old.

I would be ready to set up an arena if there is interest. Let me know your thoughts on the subject. Would you guys want to set your own teams or have it made up randomly? Size of teams? Rule variations etc...

So can one player just stand there and "hold it" indefinitely?

Oh can you do a hot potato type thing then with a counter like a explo potion with say a countdown when picked up and if not dropped it hits just you for 150? It would be like the shot clock in basketball.

*Edit* Or the GM could stand there and kill you if you do that.

There are rules to the game that make the game fun. A penalty will usually just result in a stoppage of play and the opposing team gaining possession.

* Holding onto the bagball for more than 5 seconds without also visibly dragging it
* Using a trade window to pass the bagball
* Intentionally blocking the bagball with equipped items, text spam, or any other manner
* Having more than 2 teammates standing within the goal area
* Using spells or magic of any sort (other than Night Sight)
* Using potions
* Using weapons or attacking another player
* Using the Stealing skill
* Using the Hiding skill
* Moving the bagball outside the field
* Dropping additional bagballs on the field
* Excessive unsportsmanlike behavior

wouldn't all this be prevented by server side code?

We're actually considering running this unscripted.

If all goes according to plan, we should be ready to try out our first Bagball tournament tonight after the scheduled event. Hopefully we can get a decent turnout and have some fun!

Yea, was a good time. Even though the instant video replay disallowed one of my goals :(
