How about weekly 1v1 and 2v2 tourneys?

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

Innit one day 7x field the next 7x mage or finally just 7x no pots or something.

That is simply stupid and beyond retarded.
Faust this is one of the reasons TONS of people played macer tanks during t2a, me and Johnny actually both had one on sonoma. Disabling unlimited resources should be a set in stone rule for the upcoming tournys. If you cant manage your regs and stamina, then you shouldnt be winning. Right now "duel rules" is literally "handicap rules for a sword mage".

An example would be the field rules tourny recently, were my poison pots and explosion pots were of unlimited use, an extremetly ridiculous mechanic that we abused. The same could be said for stam pots, food, and regs.

Where is the risk vs reward?

More events = less actual game play. Players will only log on for events and it ruins the flow of what is going on in the world. I've been fighting for less events or no events at all for a long time. Every time we cut down on events more people decide that they have to play the actual game and field pvp grows. This isn't UO CTFAGE, or UODUELAGE ... its UOSecondage. T2A pvp revolved around field fighting and interaction of players randomly around the world. All these events are doing is taking away from T2A and adding to Custom UO.

I dont think an hour or two every week is going to destroy the shards pvp.

Second this, would be extremely happy if events were removed and trophies were gained only through town cryer quests or monster raids on towns (era accurate).

I think minimal staff involvement (in the game world) is key to this shard succeeding. I strongly oppose staff sponsored anything, especially tournaments. If we want tournaments, we should make them ourselves. Once these timers are finalized on the live server im sure player run tournaments will be much easier to come by.

Im all for more pvp, but I think this is the wrong way to go about it. It would be far more constructive and inviting if we could setup a player run infrastructure for tournaments.

run this every saturday tbh. 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 tourneys.

Also about bitching "lack of feild". Its a lack without events.. i mean fuck me, its hard to get a fight on here now.. and shit, most guilds run even numbers anyway so quit bitching. Also vlas, the only targets TG fight and not run away from, are the people not good enough to enter anyways.. nuff said.
