For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

Stealing in guarded areas... why return!!! Not accurate!

Post by Xenome »

As far as I can remember, UO never returned items to players after they were stolen in town. Not that I'm advocating everyone make a thief and buddy up with someone, but, that's what I remember!

Me: I'm going steal these colored sandals from this noob at the bank... get ready to loot my corpse!
Friend: Ok, I'm ready
Me: 3... 2... 1...
Me: *Steals Sandals*
NPC: GUARDS!
Me: *GUARD WHACKED*
Friend: *Loots Sandals*
Victim: Oops, what an idiot... I should have put those in the bank!
Friend: *Equip Sandals* LOL, look at my new sandals!

Better yet, snatch a black dye tub or some ranger armor since they weren't blessed!

In late t2a, they did. That's why you had to quickly put your stolen item on your cursor before you died. Your partner would pick it up off the ground, not your corpse.

Items in the cursor (being dragged) do not fall to the ground here

Stealing Changes
UO Team
16 Aug 2000 00:00:00 EST
Players will again be able to steal random items from players without getting the "too heavy to be stolen" message. The random steal will still check the weight of the random item and factor that into the success or failure of the steal attempt.

Not really on this topic... but another stealing related change. This is post-ren though. Not sure if it is a factor here.
