Crippling Sudden Lag Spikes

I don't know what happened...

I had been playing all day up until a few minutes ago, and suddenly my character begins to lag uncontrollably. He's fine if he stands still, but the moment I try to move, the lag sets in in regular intervals, lasting a few seconds to 5 minutes. It makes no sense it'd run fine for hours and then suddenly I cannot fix this issue. I can't play, and everyone else around me can move, making it impossible to do anything.

Is there a server issue? Am I the only one getting it right now?

Wireless network, or p2p/bittorrent software running on your network can cause this.

We had server side lag for a few days prior to last night in the evenings, but a fix yesterday morning appears to have corrected the problem, although we are still watching closely.
