Found my 1998 T2A strat guide
There is TONS of info in this thing, especially details on monster stats. There was some debate a while back about Katana vs. Kryss. Here is the info it has:
Kryss: 5-26 dmg, 53 speed
Katana: 4-25 dmg, 48 speed
This would make the Kryss clearly superior :9
** Anybody else curious about some info?

What's being said about curing deadly poison?

Yeah, I've got that thing around here somewhere along with Ren and the Original.
Re: Found my 1998 T2A strat guide
nothing about curing deadly poison
The weapon speed formula is neat:
10,000 / ((Dexterity + 100) x Weapon speed)
----------
For example: Dagger @ 100 dex
10,000 / ((100 + 100) x 70)
That is an attack every 0.71 seconds.
----------
For example: Halberd @ 100 dex
10,000 / ((100+100) x 25)
That is an attack every 2 seconds.
----------
This is assuming we use this formula. I highly doubt we use these weapon tables, although they look pretty good! They actually make fencing worth having over swords.

There were a couple revisions to weapons during the era, 2 or 3 I believe.

Re: Found my 1998 T2A strat guide
ohh! I lost that link! Interesting. The formula for attack speed makes it slower and they actuallly use stamina instead of saying dexterity.
Halberd:
15,000 / (100 + 100) x 25
This is a halberd hit every 3 seconds. How come people were hitting every 2 seconds then? Is the reset timer for toggling in and out of combat always 2 seconds?

Re: Found my 1998 T2A strat guide
Halberd seems to be the bigger winner vs. 30 AR (Plate armor). So lets see how it should really work in game.
100 dex / 100 str / 100 swords / 100 tactics / 100 anatomy w/ Halberd
1. Attack speed:
FORMULA: Attack Speed= 15,000 ÷ ( [Stamina +100] x Weapon Speed )
? = 15,000 / ( [100 + 100] x 25)
1 attack / 3 seconds.
2. Determine % Chance to Hit.
FORMULA: Hit Chance= ( Attacker's Weapon Ability + 50 ) ÷ ( [Defender's Weapon Ability + 50] x 2 )
GM vs GM
? = (100 + 50) / ( [100+50] x 2)
50% chance to hit
3. Randomly determine base damage, within weapon's damage range.
5-49 base damage
4a) Determine Tactics Modifier to Damage Dealt to base damage.
5-49 x 1.5 = 7.5 - 73.5 damage
+2.5 - 24.5
4b) Add STR Bonuses to Damage Dealt to base damage.
+1 - 9.8
4c) Add Anatomy Bonuses to Damage Dealt to base damage.
+1 - 9.8
Final damage: 9.5 - 93.1
5) Determine Hit Location
30 AR per plate item piece. The display AR is different from the AR per item when it is hit. So assuming that each spot you hit is 30 AR.
6) Modify for Damage Absorbed by Armor
FORMULA: Damage Absorbed= Random value between of 1/2 AR to full AR of Hit Location's piece of armor.
30 AR = 15 - 30 damage absorbed.
10) Halve all remaining damage.
A. 9.5 - 93.1 damage (51.3 avg)
B. 15 - 30 damage absorbed. (22.5 avg)
C. Attacks past armor will be: 0 - 63.1 damage
D. Damage half: 0 - 31.5 damage
11) Apply final damage.
1 - 31.5 damage per hit. (changed 0 to 1 for averaging; 16 avg. dmg)
1 minute (100% hit): 325 damage
1 minute (50% hit; realistic vs. GM): 162.5 damage
100 dex / 100 str / 100 swords / 100 tactics / 100 anatomy w/ Halberd

Re: Found my 1998 T2A strat guide
I've timed my halberd swings at 3 secs so I'm assuming it's the Stratics table.

At least change the angle so people can't see where my characters are. Fire/IPBan anyone who plays my characters too plz. KThxBai.
Re: Found my 1998 T2A strat guide
The weapon speeds and damages changed after T2A release, likely in Feb '99 which was a big patch that added the Meditation skill and Anatomy and Eval Int damage bonuses. The speeds we use are those in the archived stratics table which we have copied to our website:
