I don't think so. That's ignorance on the buyers part. i feel like mis-representing an item would be scamming such as a blank spell book being sold as a full one. I see no issue with selling lets say a force spear for 900k if someone is willing to pay it.

Telling a playing that an open bag of flour is a rare then convinceing him its worth 100k (scam)


as far as the forums go, if you make a thread selling 1000Fish Cakes @ 100gp each and some nooblette thinks its a great deal and pays the 100k for your fish cakes, then more power to you, chances are that a player will speak and either mention that it is way overpriced, or that they will give you free fish!

Unfortunately for you, what players tell you on the subject means nothing. What the staff's perception of scamming and the case someone will bring against you means everything.

I'd say yes., go for it As long as your not lying about what you're selling.

I agree with Wise's example:

In the second case you're lying about the item. It's not a rare.

The rule applies to IRC and Forums only.

I don't want to get into defending this rule, I'm a bit iffy on it myself, but it is the rule currently.

Scamming would be advertising full spellbooks for sale when they are empty, no matter the price.
It would not be scamming to be selling spellbooks for any price that you and the buyer agree upon.

The existance of this rule does not warantee any transaction by staff. We will not interere in any in game transactions no matter where the transaction was advertised. Buyer beware.

I agree whole-heartedly on this. Having official administrative punishment for scamming is utterly goddamn ridiculous unless it concerns real world money.
