PvP Tourney - Once a week.

i cant speak for everyone, but if events were only on certain days at certain times theres probably a 99% chance i would miss all of them. its nice having them often, gives the people a chance who cant get on at certain times a chance to play. as of now i can get in an event late evenings like the 9 pm est maybe once every two weeks. but having the events at different times during the day and having them often gives me a chance to play.

if you want a tournament to really have big meaning then set one up yourself with entry costs and have big prizes. leave these automated events for us people who dont take them seriously and just want to play.

i like that idea more scheduled tournaments during the day for people that play different hours.

Having the same shit over and over just makes people after awhile, quit. If people start getting the feeling of "il log on, play events here, log off and play my other server where i have billions of gold" this helps how?

Almost everytime ive been to a tourney, i notice people saying their logging after the 1vs1. Thats also another reason why the PvP is dead here, not because of macroers.. its because everyone is use to never having to spend gold on items/regs they then never pk/hunt. So they then cant pvp on the feild because lack of funds.

All in all, Having it daily is by far the gayest idea. Having it on weekdays is also gay, thats why i said sure.. thursday night fights but have it on a weekend also. If you really want to look good and be remebered in pvp, you would want it this way. Daily tourneys.. pft, who are you again? GG

Another thing that bothers me, Lack of staff. I work all day, come home. 0 staff online to run events for the other timezone because there is currently 2 - 3?? Set up a staff application somwhere.

Not that this is at all on topic, but We will not likely have staff anytime in the near future that will be covering 2-7 am. We do not desire to have a large staff team. Most of our players are extremely proficient, and hand-holding by staff is neither desirable or beneficial to the UO experience.

Once we get the new event scheduling system installed we should be able to run some events for the off hours.

To be honest Game Rage, I don't see what we can possibly do about people that don't want to play UO. If they log on only to play the 1vs1 then they are not gaining anything and they are not experiencing Second Age at all so i don't see how reducing the frequency of events would solve their problems. A lot of our events are not scheduled so that would mean that they can't log on "for" the events, they would have to be on already to know it's happening.

Or you could just take the damn event clocks away and not announce the very second the event is starting.

I still stand by this idea. If theres no way to monitor what time the events will happen, then the only players who will benefit are those who are online playing. I haven't been in any events in over 2 weeks, my available time prohibits me from being online past 8pm.

If anything these daily events are for the better imo. Every event lets people practice teamwork, their skills, etc. Then they can take the experience and skills they learned from these events and put them to use on the field.

Bear in mind that the bulk of the players on this shard are located in the US. For many, those night-time events are right around bed-time or dinner -- hence why you see so many people drop off shortly after them.

maybe a comprimise that would help some of the people who want a 'serious' 'more important' 'meaningful' event would be to schedule a once a month tourny with a more significant reward, and leave the other daily events as they are. ?

such a victory hall or somthing get their name on a trophy board as champ for the month or somthin.. then can leave the daily events and tournys for those of us who just want some fun
